The entire cover is awesome
I am kind of stunned, I mean, it feels inevitable given the last couple months but also, woah

I didn’t finish it. But I truly loved Alien Earth
Childhood trauma rewires the brain and causes life long and generational issues. We are setting up our country for generations upon generations of trauma. And we’ve never recovered from the generations of trauma from Indigenous genocide, slavery, misogyny & racism, still ongoing
ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.
To me, the fact that a man can make an entire country celebrate a diss track and a woman is pillared for one is another example of the double standards of misogyny. I’m not talking comparing song quality, just even the act of writing one.
You can like the music of someone and not be a fan
You can be a fan and not like a song or an album
You can like the music of someone and not like the person
You can like a person and not like their music
The world wants us to live in absolutes and boxes, but we contain multitudes
I would rather pay taxes to save someone’s life - the Christian pov by the way - then to pay taxes to take the lives of others in war, famine and concentration camps.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News segment about the Black neighbourhood in Chicago that was targeted by ICE with the help of FBI
I do think her life is complicated in ways that are hard for us regular folks to understand and emphasize with and that does cause some relatability issues that are less obvious in previous albums. I get that. I feel this about almost every artist as they get rich and famous, a chasm grows.
I also feel like she is more self aware each album. And I love that her albums are emotionally complex because I think that (most) people are.
Girl can hold a grudge, without a doubt. I think she has the same type of anxiety as me where your brain latches onto things with teeth and can’t let go so I empathize. But that’s just speculation on my part.
I get that y’all wanted Taylor’s new album to be political fire, but 1) that’s not her wheelhouse, 2) the album was written and recorded before current times and 3) the girl is down bad

I am both overwhelmed with current times and in love with the new album because I contain multitudes

So, I love the new Taylor album. Cancelled is maybe my favorite.
Super fun that my daughters US History teacher thinks the 19th Amendment was a horrible idea and my kid keeps having to hear about his misogyny while learning about the 19 Amendment
