An open letter to people who post on /r/RPG to ask if their game mechanic is "good":

Try it. Just try it. Grab a few friends, take an hour or two and try it. You don't need a full system. Just make up some vague stat blocks or challenges and try it. It's literally the only way to know if it works.

A bit of everything, thb! The individual mysteries are very Encyclopedia Brown, low stakes, but important to the characters. There's also a larger mystery to solve over the course of the campaign. That case focuses on adults doing Actual Crime, so it's more Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew or Brick.
