My NYT bestselling novel 'This Book is Full of Spiders' is three bucks this month in any ebook format. It's a great entry point if you've never read my books (I realize it says it's book 2 in a series but these all stand alone as complete stories). Just search your device for that title.

Hey folks, this Wednesday the 15th, I'm the guest on @scaresshapedus.bsky.social podcast. I chatted with @awalrusdarkly.bsky.social about my novel debut THE SMALL HOURS and LET'S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH, a formative film for me that I saw at a way too young age.

Relax, if you’re British, it’s PRY-mer in both instances.
merriam-webster.com
Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”

Enjoy every moment of this. A massive cause for celebration. But, you know what, I reckon you're only just getting started!

I'm currently editing our This Is Horror Podcast conversation with @jacymorris.bsky.social. Such a smart and thoughtful writer with lots of good insights into writing and life.

Get the book that early readers say "I received an advance review copy for free"

Er ... wait ...

How about: "Pastorella’s pacing is killer, Willi rules, and the oyster scene is an all-timer metaphor for how monsters eat us with a smile."

THE SMALL HOURS.

Get it: ghoulish.rip/product/the-...
Cover of THE SMALL HOURS by Bob Pastorella. Cover art by Betty Rocksteady. A redheaded vampire in a coffin with large eyes and a blood smeared fang-filled mouth. A blurb compares the writing to Peter Jackson meets Adrian Lyne.

Never expected anything less! Can’t wait to see it. Loved the first film.
thisishorror.bsky.social
Wait, you just gave your own book the perfect blurb. Incredible!
thisishorror.bsky.social
Sometimes we have to do less to do more. When you come back recharged it’s going to feel glorious!
thisishorror.bsky.social
This is the first I’m learning of it! Will check this out asap. You know how much I love Crowbar and basically everything Windstein has done!

I think this is ultimately what counts. We can get caught up in too many metrics: the awards, the accolades, the reviews, the sales, god forbid ‘the market’, but at the end of the day and the end of our lives, all that really matters is whether we were true to ourselves and our vision.
