Well of course we can't afford it- it would make Judith Collins guilty of ethical behaviour by association!
Bernard Hickey wielding a Monday morning flamethrower.
Course it could be envy- that policeman's head attire and uniform is so dreary.
Moral turpitude and greediness is such a toxic combination.
#nzpol. We don't have the money, we gave you $12 a week tax break, and me an extra $340 a week. Ohh, yea, we also gave $2.9 billion to landlords (hey, that is me also, woohoo), and $300 million tax break for tobacco companies. But we just don't have the money for teachers and medical staff, sorry.
And Judith as preachey as all getout. Time for a re-run of that "Parcel of Rogues in a Nation" phrase.
Yes- heard this and damn near choked as I laughed. #nzpol

They will spend 515 million at the drop of hat, on roads. Doctors, nurses and teachers, though? "Fuck off peasants"
I have been incensed by Simeon Brown's broadside to doctors, pretending they are being misled by the unions. Anyone who believes his delusional mean-spirited words is dicked in the nob. Bloody snake-oil sort he is. #nzpol

Tighten your belts, they say. Except when it comes to $2.7 billion toys. Austerity for the people, extravagance for the military. Bell’s cartoon today in The Post about the new “investment” in “subhunters”:
Oh sigh. I thought he had got a better life which didn't involve his endless shining wit approach. Seems I was far too optimistic and he is still mean minded. What is it with blokes such as he is?

Looks like a good time in the news cycle to tackle three big myths 🧵
❌ NZ pension costs are an unsustainable burden ❌
Seriously, no, for lots of reasons.
1. Our current Govt spending on pensions is low compared to most other advanced economies. And... [1/n]
By heck, the man is such a weasel! Is there any bad idea, mendaciousness or budgetary hole he cannot conjure up?

Here’s my daily newsletter, podcast and email. Why didn’t the Government look at a solar and battery option instead of LNG? It would have been much faster and cheaper and the new Ruakaka battery shows it can soften wholesale price inflation. #nzpol thekaka.substack.com/p/thursdays-...
Thursday's Chorus: Where's the solar plan?
Govt's energy reforms ignored the option of a fast & big solar buildout, which Meridian's Ruakaka battery park shows would help; ANZ & BNZ fire shots to start mortgage war

That story on the Bulwark was pretty damn scary.

Have money, get a discount off your sentence for giving a mere pittance of it to charity. So, if you are rich in NZ you not only get name suppression, you can also buy yourself a reduced sentence even for extreme examples of child pornography.
That’s not fair.
So which very wealthy family is it?
Wealthy NZ family member guilty of child abuse images given sentence discount for donation
He gave $50,400 to charities days before his sentencing was scheduled.

It's not a vaccine unless it's from the region of Scientific Method. Otherwise, it's just sparkling grift.
“He said things like ‘vaccines had fetal parts,’” Monarez said, “and I had to send a note to our leadership team to correct that misinformation.”
RFK Jr. Has a Prescription for America: Pure Chaos
Last week offered the clearest picture yet of his plan on vaccines—and the damage it’s already causing.

True enough. Such a wankpenguin as he is.
Yes, it is now at the point of spectacular.
Gotta say that's bidding fair for spectacular.
