over and over again I am encouraged by the way this guy reaches out to constituencies who aren’t naturally part of his coalition - not to pander for votes with changing views but to try to find common ground and work together on stuff he believes in

he’ll need every bit of that attitude as mayor

we’ll see how his mayoral tenure shakes out but i am convinced that Mamdani has the juice. not just the charisma to win an election but the temperament to govern and the measured pragmatism of someone who genuinely believes what they’re saying and wants to accomplish real things.

Obviously we need a permanent end to the genocide and a new, more just, more free future for all Palestinians in the Land.

This is what happens when bad faith actors are in charge, these questions remain open.

I will note this, which --

one open question is, are any of the remaining 28 claimed to be dead still possibly alive, to be used later as bargaining chips.

And another, of course, is will Bibi use this as pretext to start bombing again.
