Tidying up my old funny pic directory.

Oh what a sweet summer child I was.

I really believe generative AI is a cognitohazard to an entire column of humanity. I don't know, there's a something it fucking does to people that displaces their own entirely-capable cognition and independence, further they seemingly cannot perceive the deficits of. This is not a moral argument.
I'm personally know 2x bikers who look like giant scary bears but who are some of the sweetest people I know and are not involved in crime AT all and are members of the Perth child protection "gang"
SOME motorcycle gangs deal in heroin, I'd even agree most. But I literally just linked to 3 x "gangs" who formed around charters of aid and community service. Just because you see 3 massive beardy guys on bikes doesn't mean they are criminals. Don't stereotype.
Because everyone likes to turn their brains off and just categorise people into nice easy to work with pigeon holes. Because shades of grey are hard.

But I'll acknowledge that going forward maybe I should define that up front rather than assuming nuanced approaches to a hyperbolic statement from the general public.
With 8 billion people on the planet your almost guaranteed to be able to get someone to claim unicorns are symbols of fascist ideology, or hilter was just a misunderstood artist. But do they truly represent the Overton window or general opinion? I suspect not.
I think it's more that I didn't define it well at the beginning. I felt it was implicit that we weren't taking about a lunatic fringe on either side who, while published by sensationalist media do not represent any sides general view.
...At the risk of "no true Scotsman-ing"
I mean.. A) i suspect that's not something the majority would agree with so the actual effect is low and B) while not a fascist, he was no Saint with the arms deals and support of other regimes.

I feel that's one fringe voice being elevated beyond it's actual wider acceptance.
Could you give a concrete examples of this please? I'd be interested in hearing of a documented case of someone being called a fascist who isn't extolling a fascist view at the time?
If all the files are lost by the destruction of a single server or server cluster, then it's not really "the cloud" is it? It's pretty much as far away from "the cloud" as you can get... And veers dangerously into "the remote server" territory.

Yea, gobsmacked.

I'm sure the relative would just reply "ah, but this was the wrong KIND of Jesus.." as if moving that goalpost cost nothing in the world to them.

i.e Baptist vs Catholic
This is a SUPER interesting talk from Blackhat that starts out talking about social engineering and how to detect it, AI voice clones scamming money from friends and family.

What I didn't expect was the fascinating deep dive into AI psychosis.

Very worth the watch!

Hahah oh my god! I'd totally forgotten about that until you just said it then. And I instantly had a vivid sense memory of us saying that and laughing like it was the funniest shit ever. :p
Oh I agree. It would be ride to put a red packet in a bag of chips. I think I was reply mostly to the people saying "giving people money in small red packets is a thing?!?" As if THAT'S the smoking gun.

It is a thing, just not like this. :)
I mean, it kinda is except for the relationship between them is wrong as it the time of year. It feels like everyone came to the right conclusion but used the wrong math.
