New pinned post! Vibes here are all over the place, but my primary creative outlets are cosplay and making things from my fandoms. This thread is the highlights reel, when I remember to cross-post.
Me in 4 different cosplays: Valery Legasov from HBO's Chernobyl, Sam Vimes from Discworld, Francis Crozier from AMC's The Terror, and Siegfried Farnon from All Creatures Great & Small. This set is where I aimed to be pretty screen-accurate. Two projects inspired by Fallout 4: Custom matchbooks, and a leather Gladstone bag covered with travel stickers. Everything made from scratch by me. Some silly things: A sexy "Sexy Halloween Costume" costume, and a friend's sculpture of a mushroom man that I painted and posed in the woods. Two cosplays where I did my own thing: An intricate set of leather armor for Thw Mysterious Stranger from The Adventures of Mark Twain, and a WIP of a Nick Valentine (Fallout 4) cosplay using actual clothing from the 1940/50s.

This @eric-reinhart.com piece was clarifying. Reinhart argues that there is no saving the cultural norms and edifices that held our society together, and the only choice is to build new institutions fit for our times.

Why Shame No Longer Works in American Politics
While it once played a role in binding society, shame has lost its power—and so have the liberal tools that depend on it.

Reporting to you live from War Ravaged Portland
Unpacking some moving boxes that have been in the garage for nearly 2 years. Immediately got distracted by my old yearbooks and this magic card a friend taped in the back.
Crystal has a richer tone when struck, has rainbow shimmers + sharper edgez in the cut parts, and lacks the seams of pressed glass. (Here, the seams are very well hidden, but they are there.)

There are also consumer tests you can buy, a chemical + UV light combo.
Cute pumpkin outside our local fabric store. 🎃🪡
A pumpkin dressed up to look like one of those classic "tomato" pin cushions. It has multiple giant "pins" stuck in it.
(I am aware about lead crystal and leeching - this is pressed glass.)
Me, after a gig where the only food in the green room is greasy pizza
Lmao! But that one is very pretty!
I don't drink, but my god, the aesthetic!
It's nice to have a warm kitty on a cold night :3

this one is made from sprinkling reactive glass powder on top of copper infused sheet; the white parts are the part that don't have contact with the copper sheet and the grey parts are where it did nora.jewelry/products/aqu...
small irregularly shaped teal pendant with a powdery layer of grey on top of the teal and white on top of that in something that looks a bit like webbing. like all of these its a fully rounded final piece so the layers are inside it, like a thin paperweight

The huge Deinocheirus in its habitat. Illustration I did for the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum in Japan

In this illustration you can see a scene set in Late Cretaceous Asia where an adult Deinocheirus is scaring away a pair of young Tarbosaurus
