So in addition to the #NoKings rally today, I also got some vaccinations (COVID and pneumonia). So between the walking, standing, walking some more, and vaccine after-effects. It’s an ibuprofen and early bedtime kind of night.

That was my primary decision-making criteria. Not at all that I’m old and introverted, it was fear of the social faux pas of arriving in the same outfit.

I do it for 7s and for Zs to differentiate them from 1s and 2s due to my sloppy handwriting. I used to slash 0s to differentiate from Os, but dropped that since there were fewer cases of potential overlap.

My native plants are largely past their blooming phase. Now they provide food and shelter for various wildlife, including this cardinal and white-throated sparrow.

A cardinal sits on the square stem of a cup plant that has started to turn brown. Fading leaves are in the foreground with a few staying green yet behind.

A white-throated sparrow (which does have a white throat but is more easily recognized by the stripes on its head) is caught in the action of grabbing some goldenrod seeds while perched on a neighboring cup plant that is fading to brown.

Visited the MN Arboretum this morning. Trees are just short of peak fall colors, but there were some lovely views. Also popped over to the apple house to pick up some fresh Honeycrisps.
