Today I tried something new! I was terrified of Poppy. It was more what could be of them than what they... are. So I went up to them to see how they are! They were nice enough to take a picture of me. And now I'm less terrified 🤣
I hope with every new day things can be less scary. For all of us.

one more weirdo just when morning creature posting from my folder of creatures I like, but leptopoma perlucidum is a fun snail bc in spite of being a land snail, you'll notice its eyes are at the base of the head. This is more similar to certain types of aquatic snails

We welcomed again entomologist Steve Gregory to #LyeValley #fen to complete his grant-funded invertebrate survey. A bit cool for flying insects but Steve did find spiders & snails & actually found a Glow-worm larva feeding on a dead snail! @friendlyevalley.bsky.social @colsocbi.bsky.social

Lately, whenever I checked on the door snails, they were closed & hadn’t moved in days. Today, after a lot of rain, I visited them again & there they were, young & old, gliding along the tree trunks & sort of sucking the surface or moss. Me happy!

So I went out and I didn't see him. He must be in some sort of shelter for the night. I have no ill will towards MePhone- this may sound petty, but I just don't want him anywhere near Baseling. It was a close call though, and I think we're going to sit down and have a talk about this.
