I have a lot going on rn, trying to apply for disability support, need proof from my doctors and have a limited timeframe to get that organized. It's all just a lot to handle.

I honestly feel a little paralyzed with anxiety.

(Spoilers: It's a dragon.)

His eyes drifted to the sky. When did it get that dark?

Oh gods.

The rain came down in torrents, like someone had moved the Silver River directly above them and let it drop. Mick hastily shoved his arrow back into his quiver and grabbed Eleanor’s hand. At first, he led her back onto their trail, but as the rain continued to deluge the forest, he stumbled and suddenly found his feet tearing desperately through underbrush. He didn’t know where he was leading Eleanor—just that he had to lead her somewhere higher, somewhere more sheltered than this.

“Where did this come from?” he squealed.

“A monster, clearly!” Eleanor responded. “Something like this can only come from a water spell—a powerful one!”

All this to say we've always been here. If one of the oldest stories references your creation. It's a safe bet your type of person probably predates the city it's set in.

Not my fault that happens to be the first city.

The Epic is damaged and it's unclear what's be different between this version and those passed on in oral tradition.

However, the gods from the later story all exist in the epic so they likely overlap greatly. Also many of Ishtar's clergy were openly trans which was just accepted by society.

However this story is a creation myth which explains an evolution in how humans experienced gender. Man/Others/Woman. Two figures are created but they explicitly represent a new kind of human.

Ishtar blesses those who follow after them, while the Queen of the Underworld curses all their kind.

There's many myths which include trans figures, but my favourite is probably Ishtar's rescue from the underworld. It's so old the inciting incident is casually referenced by Gilgamesh. Her husband's death.

A lot of these stories present someone who defies the established paradigm of Man/Woman.
