I love audio books, but I definitely have this issue as well. I was listening to some history courses about places whose histories were not familiar to me, and I could barely hold those names in my head and probably wouldn't recognize them in writing

Can you imagine, they said they included Christine Jorgensen in order to AVOID being transphobic? Meanwhile, they've gone out of their way to purposefully tie the "true story" to all the movies that ran with transphobic narratives inspired by Ed Gein.
