The problem here is that polls have very well-characterized statistical errors but poorly-characterized systematic ones. Stats people report the statistical interval, but everyone else hears "confidence interval" and thinks it includes systematic errors.

These FiftyPlusOne 95% confidence intervals do NOT look right, and imply an absurd amount of certainty w.r.t the outcome here. Wouldn't be the first time G Elliott Morris did something stupid with election forecasting.

gonna reiterate a hobbyhorse of mine: 'let the ATF keep electronic records' is a good fight to pick on guns. it doesn't impact normie gun owners at all, it's an insane bit of GOP mandated dysfunction in government, and it's being "tough on crime" in a way that actually matters

To preface this: I like Mamdani, would probably have ranked him 3rd in the primary, would happily vote for him with zero reservations if I lived in NYC.

But after seeing the response to Platner's tattoo, I completely understand how someone could find the "intifada" comments disqualifying.
