Queer ascetic nomad, traveling around the US in Subarus since 2015. Reading a lot of books. Weird abolitionist, anti-prohibition, AI-hating tendencies. Went to school for psych & math, working in software begrudgingly

The most important thing about me is that in 2015, I gave away almost everything I owned that didn't fit into a Subaru Outback and entered homelessness, as a nomad. Thus my tag, which really started as the name of my blog where I wrote of my travels.

I got really into long distance hiking, too
Anza Borrego Badlands Route (Full Loop)
I woke Thursday morning to temperatures hovering around freezing, cold as hell in Blair Valley. Struggling to gain the motivation to pack up my gear and begin heading out, I delayed as the sun rose…

They should just go ahead and try to separate themselves from Anathema. It'll forever frustrate me if they try to continue Anathema with less than half the band
It kinda exposes that Danny wasn't the only one driving creative expansion of the band in Anathema
I think maybe they play a lil too safe. But I really do appreciate it and hope they stretch and challenge boundaries more in the future further. Because that's what anathema was for me.
I'm a big fan of earlier Anathema, when they were pioneering death/doom and goth metal. And there's elements of Weather Systems that go back to trying to figure out the lessons of later Anathema with that kind of rawness and creativity.
I immediately looked up some reviews and everyone's complaining that the whole Anathema isn't there, and Idgaf about that. To me, I get to see a stripped down attempt at pushing off what remains of Anathema, and that's cool AF to me.
They *know*. They get it. They know what notes hit when. It's so fucking good.
Anathema hit a point of production value I really enjoyed, but seeing the Daniel Cavanaugh et al continue it in lower, more raw production in this album *does it for me*
But it's also more raw, again. Fuck. This album is so good already
I'm so immediately obsessed and I'm on the second track now. Which is going back to The Optimist in a specific kind of dark expression that I really fucking like
I'm gonna go drive up to the volcano just to listen to this album....
Omfg. This album needs a dedicated listen.
It allows them to be a lil bit more heavy metal raw too, which is kinda good on the returning members? It sounds good!
It's like if you cut half of Anathema and half their production budget, and pushed them back to a lil bit more Weather Systems musically
Weather Systems!! They have one album. It's raw, in a way I really appreciate as an Anathema fan lol
Omfg, there's an Anathema side project I just now learned about
I hope I never get married because I'm gonna want this song somewhere in there. It's such a romantic song for how much I fucking adore it

the only way this works is if you essentially have an unpaid class of workers and i think we all know what the word for that is, and also why the technofascists like it
man who tried to slash social security spending promises communism is coming if you just ignore the enormous job losses this year due to the technology he's developing for private profit
There's a lot of gender shit in this book. I kinda tuned it out first time I read it, but it's just there for me this time lmfao
I'm assuming somebody's done a queer analysis of Dracula by now
Although there's an asterisk of Americans are just absurdly individually political and it's not *that* weird in America to be out in a position to shut down a political discussion
A LOT of us are specifically weird in this way on this app, and y'know, I love this app for it...
It's actually fucking weird to place so much self identity in your vote that you respond to me saying that with more than, "Whatever, let's change subject." Frankly!
