The entire story isn't him becoming the strongest hanyou to prove himself as good (better) as his full yo-kai brethren
but abt him getting a found-family and *finally* having love and support

Friendship with Miroku (a human that accepts him) & Kirara (a yokai that accepts him), gets to finally be a Kid with Shippo, and a love interest in Kagome (who, let's face, it is less toxic/wounded bird than KiKiYo)

I actually love InuYasha so much, he is so dumb. But he's not like, your generic shonen-anime protagonist, he's just like, naïve and dumb and mean and a loner for a Good Reason (was treated bad by everyone b'cause he's mixed😔 . Then his mother died at a young age 🥺 )
