Trump has a very simple worldview: the Presidency is not a public office, it is his property. He can use it to satisfy his personal or partisan whims, or to enrich himself.

What is clear is that no one involved in this new, unprecedented federal policy gave any thought to any legal issues involved in it, any dangers foreign nationals might now or in the future pose to any Democrats, or indeed anything besides trolling America and the world like a psychopathic nihilist.

When the government issues a declaration saying it believes it's protecting U.S. citizens by banning from the U.S. people who say unkind things about Charlie Kirk, but the same government *refuses* to ban from the U.S. people who say even worse things about living Democrats, it may be a legal issue.
