After two years of hard work, I’m proud to announce that our new special exhibition @smnstuttgart.bsky.social is now open for the public – Meet Triassic Life: Dawn of the world of reptiles (1/7).
I'm glad to hear that you like it :D Unfortunately, since we included large parts of the permanent exhibiton, I don't think that we can send it traveling :/ Let me know when you're in Stuttgart so I can give you a proper tour :)

‼️‼️Triassic Life just opened @smnstuttgart.bsky.social‼️‼️

For all #Triassic fans, lovers of strange reptiles and the Dawn of the Modern World, this is an absolute MUST!

It also couldn't be more timely with our recent publication @nature.com of the wonder reptile #Mirasaura, which is now on display!

Yesterday we opened “Triassic Life — Dawn of the age of reptiles” at Museum am Löwentor, Stuttgart. The show tracks life’s rebound after the end Permian mass extinction ~252 million years ago.

I don't think he would've wanted it even for free :D
Oh hell yes we updated it 👀 new model is gor-ge-ous ✨
Last but not least, my amazing collegues provide a step-by-step workflow for modern, digital paleo on how we get from the fossils in the field to the final publication (7/7).
To show even more, we redesigned and incorporated parts of our permanent exhibition as well as our classic dioramas into the theme of this special exhibition and built a whole new diorama and updated some of our old life reconstructions! (6/7)
And if we talk about THE highlights of the Grès à Voltzia, we can't forget about Mirasaura grauvogeli. For the first time this incredible specimen is displayed in an exhibition! Don’t miss this opportunity to witness its unique skin appendages and incredible life reconstruction in person (5/7).
Of course, an exhibition on the recovery of life after the Permotriassic extinction would not be complete without plants and insects. For the first time we show over 70 pieces of the incredible collection of Louis Grauvogel and Léa Grauvogel-Stamm from Middle Triassic Grès à Voltzia of Alsace (4/7).
But don’t you worry – you are not alone on your voyage. You will be accompanied by two experts (one of which looks suspiciously similar to a certain temnospondyl researcher 👀) and our fun sidekick Temmi (illustrated by the incredible @joschuaknuppe.bsky.social ) (3/7).
Want to learn more about what made the Triassic such a special period in Earth’s history? Eight thematic rooms, over 150 objects and 800 m² of exhibition area. Our journey starts hot – on the vast flood basalts that nearly ended it all 252 million years ago (2/7).

On tonight stream we do things a little different...
Starting 1 hour sooner and covering a very particular creature.
On thursday I successfully defended my PhD thesis on the diversity and ecology of Triassic temnospondyls at the @smnstuttgart.bsky.social and @unihohenheim.bsky.social On to more temnospondyl fun coming in the future.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this moment possible :D #temnospondone ✔️

Scientists who study climate don't automatically attribute all changes to human activity. Rather, we carefully investigate every possible natural factor that could explain the planet's warming.

Could these be the real culprits?

The evidence is in--and the answer is NO.

This thread explains! 🧵

Two years ago I returned the loan of this amazing Vancleavea skull to Ghost Ranch. It had been in Austin for CT scanning, and needed a courier to bring it home.

After 4.5 years of work, I officially submitted my PhD thesis :) 372 pages on the diversity and ecology of Triassic temnospondyls. Stay tuned for more temno fun hopefully soon :D
