Retired, birder, seeking peace of mind

Nope. Mind closed. He was concerned about reelection, not the truth. He closed massive numbers of schools in underserved areas. The CTU had more than 90% voting to strike, even with a very vote high threshold he imposed. He's a bully, neocon asshole who should retire from public life. #IHateRahm
Rahm Emanuel talks about the police murder of Laquan McDonald today very differently than he did in 2021:

“Emanuel has said that he needed to let the official process play out. ‘If the mayor weighs in, you’re basically compromising those investigations,’” he tells @theatlantic.com (1/2)
Rahm Emanuel … For President?
He’d like you to keep an open mind.

Here ya go. This one had leaves fall on it.
Indeed he was. I watch DEATH IN VENICE at least once a year, and I saw the documentary about him. I'm sorry the experience of making DIV was so painful to him.
RIP Bjorn Andresen, "The most beautiful boy in the world" and an integral part of one of my favorite films, DEATH IN VENICE. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/29/m...

Totally agree. Even if they were right, they don't deserve to make an excellent living handicapping our nation's fate.
The Democratic Party's biggest problem is that it has not learned how to play the politics of identity. We could have loyalists who would vote for them forever if they could build an identity they could find meaning in.

So proud of my city. 👊❤️

(Albany Park is a diverse neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago.)

* Continuing to fight the "Chicago is a hellhole" narrative: I saw this because I biked a few miles to a lovely chocolate cafe on a gorgeous fall day where the leaves were starting to turn golden.
Oh no. Not a red state! I guess no one is safe.

This comes from Brian Allen, who states this is a leaked CPAC press memo reveals the “Third Term Project” is hosting a February 20 event titled “The Case for Presidential Tenure Reform.”
Why write anything about what kind of campaign it is. They're sucking up.
I don't think I ever really notices these busts.
Who gives a shit what Bill Gates thinks!
Triumphal arch? I hope he puts a skating rink under it to represent all the foul, illegal acts his enablers have let him skate on.
I'm sorry you feel let down. I know how that feels. We're under siege from our own government here in Chicago, and I feel utterly abandoned by out-of-town family and friends.

Didn't see this cutey, but I did see an aardwolf at Pilanesburg National Park.

The “ president “ plans to send federal monitors to CA polling places. I’m worried this could intimidate Black, Brown, and marginalized voters. Unfortunately it’s likely he will be sending ICE to those communities polling places. 866‑OUR‑VOTE. Report intimidation to your local elections office.
Solomon. Well named. This is precisely correct.
"Anti-drug campaign"? Do you think Forbes actually believes that?

"If they are using tear gas, they better be able to back it up,” U.S District Court Judge Sara Ellis said. “And if they can’t, then they will lose that as something they can use.”
FULL STORY: Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino, who has led a series of increasingly aggressive raids across Chicago, must obtain and wear a body-worn camera and report every weekday at 6 p.m. in person to the federal judge who has tried to rein in federal agents’ use of force. @wttw.bsky.social
