The is no going back to “normal” for them. They are now living in a rubble ridden hellscape while the western world moves on, pretending it didn’t fund and approve this.

So far TODAY Israel has:

- bombed Gaza City
- bombed Khan Younis
- shot and killed five Palestinians in Gaza City
- refused to open the Rafah border crossing
- announced they would once more block aid

This is what a "ceasefire" with Israel looks like. This is what it has always looked like.

no comparison of what the conditions were before (usually feudalism/fascism)

no analysis of why it fell (US coups and bombs)

what happened afterwards (homeless, prostitution, inequality).

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

The racism with which Israel-Palestine is constantly framed by the West is astounding. And yes, it is racism where the victims are always spoken of by the media as guilty, and must be "disarmed" to protect the actual violent criminals.

Some of these Palestinian prisoners who were serving life sentences, will not be reunited with family, or be able to stay in Palestine, but will have to live in exile. Israel is also banning celebrations, and raiding family houses of those being freed.

Israel really should not exist.
