“there are a lot of people in this country …who are disgusted, appalled & frightened”by the Trump admin.
@sulliview.bsky.social is right: where’s the news coverage on these folks & the No Kings march? There are countless stories to be told…

The media is largely ignoring the trauma of millions. Here's why.
Plus: Watch George Stephanopolous pushes JD Vance with follow-up questions, cringe at Bari Weiss's pep talk to CBS journalists; and more

This from the great @sulliview.bsky.social on the media's anemic (or non-) coverage of the massive No Kings movement is such a great point

Shitty vibe reporting is not new — but its shoddy practitioners usually spell the name of person they are inaccurately sliming correctly. Breaking news: The Tiffany Network is now silver plate.

CBS News would never put a thinly sourced 'story' by a rookie blogger like this on it's air. Until now. The Free Press isn't a journalism outlet, it's bloggers aren't reporters. This piece is more NYPost than Tiffany Network but I guess that's the goal.

Multiple airports are now announcing they will refuse to play Kristi Noem’s government-funded video blaming “Democrats” for the government shutdown.

“We believe the Hatch Act clearly prohibits use of public assets for political purposes and messaging,” one airport said.

Was waiting to see how Olivia Reingold (who Oliver's piece destroyed almost as much as Bari Weiss) would respond, and you can see the tweet below which also shows she either did not watch his piece, or just didn't understand it, since he actually addresses this point directly.
Olivia Reingold quote tweeting Variety.

The Variety tweet is about John Oliver's piece on Bari Weiss leading CBS News, saying:

John Oliver slams Bari Weiss' takeover of CBS News:

"I wouldn’t want anyone who led a pure opinion outlet, not even one that I happened to agree with, to suddenly be running CBS News. But it is especially alarming to have someone doing it who has spent years putting out work that, in my opinion, is at best irresponsible and at worst deeply misleading."

Reingold then quotes it saying:

Why does this sound like John Oliver commenting on……John Oliver

The deportation order is based on Vedam’s conviction for murder—a crime he did not actually commit and for which he’s now been wholly exonerated. He entered the US at 9 months old and was a legal permanent resident before his conviction. We are so, so, so far from the light of justice.

After spending 43 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, evidence hidden by the prosecution reversed his conviction. Rather than finally enjoying freedom, ICE abducted him for deportation

Depraved.
