Charon, however, would feel guilty for taking Meli's place, and while he technically is fully within his right to live out the rest of Meli's life, he feels that this world was made for Meli, not him.

hopefully he can be convinced to do so though, instead of stepping into the aetherial sea.

after getting caught up as quickly as possible, Charon would be carrying out his final duties to the max that Meli's body can handle. in the ancient world, the ferryman was tasked with the safe delivery of precious cargo, including defending it all the way up to its final destination.
