A moth got into the shelter tonight and it was the event of the season.
polish small talk is trying to get a stranger to complain with you about something
also, I just had a vivid memory of my school english teacher explaining to a room full of first graders that they aren't suppposed to answer honestly to "how are you" in english ;D
me, autistic Pole, honestly answering this question by saying "alive".
people think I'm being funny (and they're right, I am) but I just prefer to complain about less personal stuff than that

So I think that in fact claims like "But we need new language to talk about what these things do" (paraphrasing Bubeck at the CHM debate in March) really in fact betray the speaker's desire for algorithms to maybe, just maybe be sentient/conscious/etc.

Convo last week --

Them: It's hard to talk about this stuff ("AI") without using anthropomorphizing language
Me: It's really not, actually

Some further reflections >>
glad! not glass! I'm not even on my phone, idk how I did that
yea, it was So Weird. I mostly had that with my eyes, I had that feeling that my makeupless eyes are like, invisible (which was really something considering that I have dark eyes with thick and dark lashes and brows), but bare skin fucked with me hard, I'm so glass I'm free now
that's fair, I am aware that when it comes to things like makeup and putting on nail polish I do have advantage of being an artist, lol
I got to the point in my early twenties when I would look at my bare face and struggle to actually *see* my face instead of half finished canvas to paint my face on, and I did not like that feeling at all. tok me years to sort it out so I could treat makeup as simple fun like gods intended
yea, same. also, the extent to which some people are taking it is freaking me out. ike, often it's not even their own face anymore, wHY (I dont wanna polie anyone's makeup habits, but this freaks me out specifically because that's what fucked with my brain re: full face makeup)
just looked at eu website and they also have espresso collection, ha, I need to go and check these brown lipsticks
oh yeah, lipstick is like... instant pop. I do like to play with elaborate makeups but only when it comes to colours, and not often, I have to be in the mood. I'm big fan of lines and dots design drawn on a face with eyeliner, tho, great way to feel more whimsical even in sweatpants and hoodie
I do made myself a dupe of like... sheer bronzer like thingy (original was by I heart revolution, the heart shaped one) because it's light and nice, I experiment with blush, I love shiny and sparkly highlighters, but the whole contouring and shit is not for me
I do know that, but in my case I just don;t like the feeling of full face of makeup. also I was doing it when I was young and ended up really messing my perception of my face so I went cold turkey on makeup for years and now I'm really into fun anc colourful part of it
(seriously tho, I'm glad I'm not much into eeem, primer part of makeup, because I dont think I even saw a foundation that matched my tone)
pink lipsticks aren't for me but pinks are hard! I do have some problems with browns tho, most of them are either way too nude and light or too reddish-orange, so I'm still testing every warm tone dark lipstick I see. seems like my skintone is not the popular colour type here, lol
I believe it's EU based brand? just a regular drugstore brand here, but they do make interesting seasonal collections
I found a tester of this lipstick in my local store and was so obsessed I ended ordering it from Germany lol
(catrice had a collection named... 'something (enchanted?) forest' that was summer one and was supposed to be dark..ish fairy vibe and had better halloween/spooky vibve than most actual halloween collections, I hope they'll bring it back one day because I missed some excellent rouges)
NICE
which reminds me, I need to take my (purchased after intense hunt because I was made aware of it when the collection was moslty sold out) lovely dark warm red lipstick to shop for matching contour pencil, since the formula needs it

Agreed. Mass market paperback first, as wide and cheap as possible so readers take a chance on a new author without shelling out a ton.
My strongest book-related belief is that the paperback should come first and then the hardback after for people who want a fancy edition.
this sounds like absolute nightmare and further convince me to find someone to talk me through linux when the time comes for my current pc, but also, lol, skill issue, I've been talking to all my computer since the 90s (and blessing the fact that they cannon answer)
