A quick intro to Slumberland: we're a tiny indie record label that started in 1989 in MD/DC and has resided in Oakland, CA since 1992. We've mostly focused on indiepop but SLR has also released power-pop, punk, shoegaze, post-punk, etc. Stubbornly uncool.

That’s what immediately grabbed me about them too. It just felt like this glorious, DGAF mess and I loved that about them. We may have some cool news soon this topic

I had the good fortune of writing today's Album Of The Day review for Bandcamp Daily / @bandcamp.com, linked below. It's about the excellent new album from San Francisco jangle-pop perfectos The Telephone Numbers, out now on @slumberlandrecords.com.
The Telephone Numbers, “Scarecrow II”
San Francisco's most underrated indie pop band are back with a collection of 10 punchy tunes about hazy memories, fading aspirations, and the impermanence of life.

Three more terrific songs from Tony Molina's "On This Day" are up for listening now. From the explosive "Have Your Way" to the classic folk-rock of "Livin' Wrong" it's another great taste from a crucial album! East coast tour starts Thursday! 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸

This isn’t the gnarliest and maybe not the freest but I spin it today for the first time in a while and forgotten how good it is

It's been very cool seeing so many people digging Telephone Numbers' "Scarecrow II." Check it out and see why Raven Sings The Blues said: "They’re no longer the upstarts of their early singles, but instead indie pop purists creating essentials for the long haul"

"So bring back the 12-ounce can. It’s better for pacing, better for flavor and better for trying a few different beers in one sitting." - yes, agree.

What's this gingerly loping into view? Looks a bit like issue 3 to me.
An unfinished draft cover of issue 3 of my IN THE APRIL SUN fanzine.

Las canciones de la semana empiezan con The Cords, el dúo formado por dos hermanas adolescentes escocesas que han sacado uno de los mejores discos de pop del año. Y ahí encontramos la estupenda “Fabulist”. youtu.be/yx3XH95c2Uk?...

Manchester! What a way to end our little run of Bright Nights shows. You welcomed us back into your warm-hearted city with open arms after a decade’s absence. Now we scatter again to our homes around the globe, and hope we will see you all again soon.

The return of @allodarlin.bsky.social to Manchester tonight was an utterly joyful occasion. Wonderful indiepop classics & the sparkling, brilliant new songs made for a completely celebratory night. Great to have them back. ❤️🎶🎶🎶

I first encountered them when I was barely a teen on TV of all places, they did a song or two on an installment of Midnight Special that was curated by Ric Ocasek. I probably didn’t really “get” it until college but I loved how much my dad hated it.
