I don't mind being in two places at once largely because I can occupy two different spaces & see how people use it.

Because something I find about the internet & the different social media domains is people's behaviours often change depending on how they use it.
As ever, this is so damn good!
Why nothing's come close to Perfect Blue is probably the same reason why there can only be one filmmaker like Satoshi Kon to make that a reality. Visionaries like that are a rare breed & can say something really on point about the horrors of obsessive behaviours in fandoms.

The variety is so damn limited nowadays, because CN can't show anything other than the same shite for weeks on end.

Makes me glad I have to look elsewhere for cartoons, not to mention cartoons that are GOOD.
I haven't heard her talk about it in god knows how long, but I'd love it if someone asked her about her time voicing Kiki on Kiki's Delivery Service, because she was so good in that.

That includes the late Phil Hartman as Jiji.

I re-watched it again recently & it's amazing how good it is. The cast & the soundtrack just make you get up & move.

It's becoming a tradition to watch this on repeat.

Deut the Smooth-Brained flees the animated brambles

An ink drawing of a humanoid tuxedo cat dressed in a long, patchwork poncho, thick scarf, and pointy wizard hat running away from an animated bramble. The cat is carrying a wooden staff that emanates a magical aura.
All the yay, I want to see where this is going.
Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and Joe Pineapples from ABC Warriors.
Dude! You're getting really close to that milestone 😀
It's always funny how the real star of the Tron movies are how hard the soundtracks can go.

Surprisingly. NIN went over the limit & created a soundtrack that's seriously so good that it stands up there next to what Daft Punk & Wendy Carlos did.

So it's clear that Tron: Ares had a lot that it wanted to say, but it's bloated over reliance on style over substance mix this whole film just another piece of wasted potential in this franchise & that's so frustrating.

Because from top to bottom this film's incredible visually, but nothing works.
Okay so I really hadn't planned on seeing this, but all of the buzz surrounding how bad it is has to be really curious so let's take a look and see what we got. #NowWatching

This is pure surrealism in the most wholesome way possible.

Because Peter Cullen really has come a long way from being the voice of Optimus Prime to starting out in something like this which is rather interesting, it's one of those things where you gotta appreciate an actor's humble beginnings.
There's always been something really interesting about the world and the whole concept of Tron, yet it seems kind of weird how revisiting what Tron is always leads to not having the concept be fully realized.

There's so much mythology & escapism about this world but it's not properly developed.
Trouble with Tron movies is not just the scripts, but also them obsessively making world of Tron look more and more mundane. Wanna dazzle the audience? Maintain the surrealness, the alieness of that world:

I'm all for just letting the past remain in the past.

There's no such thing as a "good live action adaptation of a cartoon". This is something that never worked and it just ends up being a waste of time and money.

And rightly deserved. You know you've made it when the art you make is featured on comics like these and they look fantastic as well
The art of physically drawing the film poster is something that takes a lot of careful precision, understanding of templates & how to make it be something you'd want to hang on your wall.

Drew Struzan accomplished that and created something that stands next to fine art.
Take a few minutes to appreciate Drew Struzan creating the original artwork for THE PHANTOM MENACE. Truly a master at work.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) Steven Spielberg
Even despite how "better" the visuals get, there just simply isn't anything about these worth getting excited for or even watching.

All of it is fake and all of it just feels so artificial and dead.
It can't be understated how much of a legend Drew Struzan was when it came to the film poster, everything he worked on felt like magic & there was something about how each poster he painted just captured your imagination with each detailed brush stroke.

Thank you Drew...and godspeed.

landscape of branches and roots growing around a small puddle of water. a blue raven stands above it with a feather in his beak, peering down into the water. three small abstract landscape paintings. Green seaweed looking one, a green stone formation that can be a city or forest, and a green and yellow natural formation that can be a leaf breaking apart Two book cover paintings. a blue one with a man and a sword, looking tired and worn, and a burnt hand besides him. the background is abstract shapes hidden by misty swirls.

The second image is of a city. There is a crowd of people that are just forms, and one man standing out in a red trenchcoat and white eyes staring at the viewer. dark blue landscape of two woods meeting for a conversation. It can also possibly be a single tree split down the middle.
