A variety of places! Local nurseries… Blue Stem Natives is a good example. My town’s garden club has a spring perennial sale, hyperlocal ecotypes!

By mail, Prairie Moon and White Flower Farm have been good.

There’s probably a native nursery not far from you! They’re spreading like mint. :)

These plants will all be fucking gorgeous in the autumn, deep purples and mahoganies and golds - and in the spring, clusters of tiny white bells in pompoms and fizzes of pink “smoke”. I plant for native habitat restoration, but I plant for beauty too.

And now I crash. Long walk yesterday after an extended time of not walking (ankle sprain, lingering cold) really did a number on me. (Didn’t even finish the PPV! We have the last three matches as a reward later.)

These people have no juice. Their supporters are cowards. They are are all bark and no bite. They collapse when we push back. Remember that.

The back along the shitty neighbor's mulch slope is now smoketrees, ninebark, gro-low fragrant sumac, and some big bluestem I hope takes. The smoketrees and ninebark and hopefully bluestem will get tall to screen out the slope and ugly fence; bluestem and sumac roots should be good anti-erosion.

Moved the wormwood to containers to better control its flop; planted a beautybush and three ninebarks. I have bare-root mountain mint and Culver's root on the way, and bulbs, and that'll be it for fall planting this year. :)
