Every sign has a story behind it, and I suspect this one in Bowling, just to the west of Glasgow, might be more interesting than most.

A plaque recording that the field was a cillín was erected in 2003

Some unknown time afterwards, a stone was erected to remember Maurice John Breen who lay inside the cillín since 1949 - flowers and teddy bears followed

#31DaysOfGraves Day 13 Inside

Upto not long a go some were not permitted to be buried INSIDE the parish cemetery, inside consecrated ground.

Unbaptised babies, non-Catholics, suicides were not allowed inside. Many were buried in Cillíní - small liminal spaces, bits of fields

I know it’s the most obvious thing in the world but it’s really sad that so many people have absolutely no desires or dreams in life except to accumulate money and our entire world is becoming a fucking pit because of it

If one of definitions for SKELETON is something reduced to its minimum form or essential parts, does this qualify as a Headstone Skeleton

Looks like Phase 2 has started

Not a light pole around City Hall without a cable-tied flag - all effectively at half mast ( or half light pole)

A white gravestone (fibreglass actually) surrounded by a white picket fence tiny against a backdrop of brown heather and hills.

Two thoughts:

I had never seen a first name called SPRING before

Why is her mother's name not on headstone?
