Starting October 15, six CTA buses will operate with Automated Bus Lane Enforcement systems as part of the City of Chicago’s Smart Streets pilot.
Automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement starts Wednesday, October 15th Keeping bus stops clear is essential to ensuring that transit is accessible to everyone especially people with disabilities. Bus lanes and bus stops are for buses. Bike lanes are for bikes.
Keeping them clear is essential to ensuring everyone in Chicago gets where they need to go, safely and on time. That's why we're launching automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement to improve rider safety and transit efficiency.

The East Side is a center of EJ leadership and resistance. It feels even heavier to see this community tear gassed as they continue to resist other environmental pollutants.

Thanks @leniann.bsky.social for your leadership on this! Housing near transit is one of the best tools we have to fight climate change.

It’s time for something new. NITA is the compromise to keep the service boards responsive to their local constituents for day-to-day service delivery issues while centralizing service planning issues where they belong at the regional level.

The Roadless Rule — which prevents all road-building, logging, mining, and mineral extraction on 58 million acres of public lands — was a hard-fought victory by environmentalists. The Trump administration began the process of rescinding it in June.
Ending the Roadless Rule is Bad News for Public Lands — Streetsblog USA

Good morning to the entire lakefront
Photo of a loan tree standing amid dune grasses with Lake Michigan in the background under a blue sky. Photo looking down a bike trail that curves off to the left with Lake Michigan to the right and the Chicago skyline visible under a blue sky straight ahead. Photo looking across and expressway that our government lies to us about and insists is a boulevard towards a large number of people running in front of a stone building through some trees. Photo of my bicycle leaning up against bike racks with milkweed and other plants and tall buildings visible behind it under a blue sky.

We can't leave bus and train riders across Illinois hanging. Transit is always the answer!

Tell the Illinois General Assembly you oppose longer wait times, the elimination of important bus and train routes, and thousands of transit worker layoffs.
