"Journalists leaving an Oval Office event Wednesday asked the president who the proposed arch would be built for. He replied: 'Me.'"

Totally normal stuff for the sitting US president to be building monuments to themselves.

Not at all monarchical.
Can someone with digital proficiency mashup Johnson’s speech with imagery of the government’s abuse toward every one of these principles?
“…except when the President invited them to Mar-a-Lago. And when Stefanik endorsed a candidate who praised Hitler. Oh, and the time we had an actual Nazi as a candidate”

Seems like now would be a good time for some sort of protest where all the people who ACTUALLY oppose fascism take the streets

That’s some peak cynicism about trying to “make sure people don’t die ..”
Mike Johnson: "Let me predict what Sen. Kelly is gonna say on the show. He's gonna give you a long, impassioned speech about healthcare and how the subsidies are so important to make sure people don't die and all of this. Let me tell you something. This is not a healthcare fight."

Condemn JD Vance’s Defense of Racism and Hate Speech
Text SIGN PSHYMH to 50409 — I am writing to express outrage that Vice President JD Vance has defended the Young Republican leaders exposed for sharing vile racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic slurs in their private group chats. These were not “kids,” as Vance falsely claimed. They were adult staffers working for state legislators, attorneys general, policy institutes, and even the federal government. Their messages—glorifying Hitler, joking about the Holocaust, mocking rape, and using slurs against women and people of color—were not “edgy humor.” They were hate speech. Dismissing this behavior as “boys being boys” normalizes racism and undermines the moral standards our leaders should uphold. Vance’s defense is especially disturbing given that some of the attacks were aimed at Indian women—the heritage of his own wife and children. His silence and excuses reveal a lack of basic decency, empathy, and integrity unfit for public office. This comes as yet another Republican staffer was caught displaying a swastika on a U.S. flag in a congressional office. When hate symbols and hate speech are met with excuses instead of condemnation, it sends a message that extremism is tolerated at the highest levels of government. Congress must draw a clear moral line. Condemn JD Vance’s defense of hate speech, reaffirm zero tolerance for racism and antisemitism in all government offices, and ensure that individuals who traffic in or excuse such hatred are never placed in positions of power or trust again.

Only in the Federalist Society academic bubble could you say that the government going in and splitting up geographically contiguous communities of Black voters in order to prevent them from ever being a majority in any House district is "government not taking race into account."

Americans lost over $240 million of their hard-earned savings to crypto ATM scams this year.

The companies running these machines profit while doing little to stop it.

We need rules that protect people, not profits and scammers.

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

Racism is the reason the Voting Rights Act was made into law in the first place!

When were White people ever denied voting rights in America prior to VRA or discriminated against at all?🤔

I'll wait. 🔥☕️

The Voting Rights Act Is a Lesson in Overcoming Setbacks
While the Voting Rights Act was undoubtedly a singular achievement, it represented the culmination of a long struggle.

The plan to force taxpayers to cover emergency medical costs for non-citizens is a law called EMTALA: signed into law by the infamous democrat Ronald Reagan.
Lisa McClain: "Democrats' plan forces taxpayers to cover the majority of emergency medical costs for all non-citizens. Another $28 billion tab for who? You guessed it, the American people."

For those of you attending the #NoKingsMarch; please stay safe and keep it peaceful. Please be mindful that there may be bad actors among us.

Their purpose is to cause chaos to get a reaction from the police. Report them when you see them.

It’s a start. Keep making phone calls to keep partisan politics out of airport safety PSAs.
It’s infuriating that we are paying Hegseth’s salary.
The Pentagon is restricting press access, and the NYT raises a serious First Amendment concern. The SecDef’s response? A wave emoji. It’s a childish mockery of accountability. But dodging scrutiny with memes is how authoritarians treat a free press.

Pope Leo says that American bishops need to be more vocal and support migrant communities from being abducted by ICE in US cities

"Important that we as church give a message of hope in the midst of these horrible struggles, what's going on in some cities in the US"

"Authoritarianism, it's a cancer. The symptoms are here, today... We thought it couldn't happen here... and now the disease is growing, metastasizing in America. But there is a cure—it requires you. On October 18, Americans will stand up, peacefully, for what makes America, America." nokings.org
This GOP’s healthcare plan is to allow millions of people to become uninsured and to die. Their plan is to further privatize healthcare so their billionaire friends and big pharma donors can get even richer by charging Americans even more for healthcare.

Imagine making six figures to not do anything you were entrusted to do.

…getting paid to not work while thousands of civil servants around you were getting fired.

…betraying those who counted on you to represent them, all to appease a wannabe dictator.

The GOP Congress is a helluva thing.
