(one of which was begun with @christophercitro.bsky.social and the always brilliant band of fellow travelers he collects and leads in private classes - I'm not saying poems are ever FINISHED finished, but it's nice to see where they get captured in a fixed state, hey)
*stares pointedly* This is a political poem. (I'm so grateful to @thedeadlands.com for the platform)

Game 3 of the World Series will continue until morale improves.
to be sous chat is a sacred duty. Whatcha gonna do? 🤷‍♀️
(Am not complaining. Am just sitting with my own nuanced discomfort and anxieties.)
Am facilitating a full day retreat for 50 people tomorrow - have done all the prep, am now just in that zone of nerves-but-somehow-need-to-sleep...and whether I'm celebrating or have flopped spectacularly, it'll be behind me by dinnertime tomorrow.
Burnout is an institutional/organizational problem that manifests symptoms in an individual. Yes, it's really good for a human to do what they can for their mental health. AND... <arches eyebrow, crosses arms, stares pointedly at academia>

My story "The Mountain" now lives again on the Bulb Culture Collective. Read about the end of the world! Climb a mountain! Say goodbye to time!
The light is on for Andrew Kozma! @andrewkozma.net💡

“The Mountain” blew us away from the very first paragraph. This is a haunting and beautifully composed story about a pilgrimage that gets more and more surreal as the story goes on.

Check out Andrew’s stunning writing over at the site!

It’s official! Book news appropriate for the season
It's times like these that make me want to apprentice as a woodworker/furniture maker. Maybe for a third act.
This cover gives me chills (See you Oct. 30...)
And the issue is officially out! Stories will start to go online from tomorrow onwards, but this is a good moment for you to subscribe to a truly excellent magazine and read the whole thing right now psychopomp.com/deadlands/is...
I have a number of real/sensible/intense anxieties. <gestures vaguely at entire world> But what did my brain decide was worth 8 hours of nightmares last night? Not being able to log on to a zoom call. 😑
TOC is out for the next issue of The Deadlands....Drumroll please!

How cool is this??? Beautiful words, beautiful way to experience literature as a community...
My words are projected onto the side of Freo Ports building as part of a series with other amazing local writers for a literary festival! 🥹 Catch @gilloshaughnessy.bsky.social and @belindarowe.bsky.social too!

(Looks like AI has ruined em dashes for good?!)

I feel very ridiculous to show up to this party with my wee little tiptoes into writing/publishing, and also...I'm giddy about this:
