Hakeem Jeffries voted for CK Remembrance Day, the same birthdate of George Floyd. He stays voting for something peculiar. I am unwilling to put him in the same category as Barack Obama. My views on Kamala is complicated after reading "107 Days." These three are opposite in everything but complexion.

Agreed. Nothing tops her first album. And I heard that song in the middle of a breakup with my lip allllllll the way poked out. I distinctly remember watching a hip-hop ballet performance to THAT song. Cheered me right up. DGAF about the guy. Still LOOOVE THE video and the song.

Just re-read this. Technically, I learned to drive in my mother's much fancier car (and man, did she have patience) and my brother flinging me in the driver's seat of his muscle car. But my own personal car was a gift and rebuilt from an auction sale, which made it that much more close to my heart.

Black people have always gone hard for D’Angelo’s music and legacy because his music was the soundtrack to our culture. It wasn’t one household where you didn’t see a D’Angelo record displayed near the studio of a black household. He will forever be in our souls for what he gave to us. 🕊️

Prince fans are always ready to claw my eyes out every time I say Alicia Keys' version of "U Don't Call Me" is FAR better though.

As a Gen X kid obsessed with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson & Prince who had Jazz and Blues playing all around but was drawn to Funk, we immediately identified with D’Angelo and clocked his influences…

He became OUR version. And now, he is one of the ancestors.
