A magnitude 8.7 earthquake has just occurred off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula, just a bit over a week after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake in the same area.

Amidst all terrible news, I am sad that here it is not better. Today the VU Amsterdam announced they'll cut Earth Sciences, and fire 39 staff. 130 students are left to figure out how to finish, and an unknown number of PhDs lose their supervisors. My heart goes out to my colleagues 😳😥

Keep calling the AGs - say thanks and ask them to file lawsuits for every department or agency these muskrats invade!

I just spoke with an attorney who works with the NOAA, and there is a valid path to shut down what's happening. The agencies are compromised, the IGs are fired, etc.

We need a state AG (she said NY would be best) to file a lawsuit seeking an injunction using state and federal cybersecurity laws.
