The de minimus exemption for the U.S. has ended today. We ARE still shipping to the United States, however, you’ll notice that our website now charges duties as a surcharge. Shipping is still flat-rate: $20 CAD for orders under $80, and free shipping for orders $80+. 💜
A new edition would be great! It’s been in our library for years and I always recommend it to folks so we thought it would be a nice addition to the shop this year
Dahlia ‘Candy Corn’ is SENSATIONAL!

Very long day, but there were great highlights, including a stop at @seafoamlavender.bsky.social to walk amongst the lavender and top up my supply of their excellent products. Lavender is my thing. #gardensky #bloomscrolling #pollinators
Thank you for sharing!! So nice to have you at the farm today! 🥰
‘Pink Perfume’ (L. angustifolia) in our side garden is in her glory! Meanwhile, our lavender field is purple and fragrant. We expect peak colour for the next three weeks or so. Free entry 12-5 pm every day - we would love for you to visit. #lavenderfarm #novascotia #visitnovascotia
Our #lavender is almost ready, and, while we wait, we are cherishing the #penstemon blooms. So are the bees! 🐝 #gardenSky #NovaScotia #gardening
If you love wildlife, native plant gardening is the best. If you build it, they will come. We started with swamp milkweed and got monarch visitors. Over time and building our collection, we’ve had a dramatic increase in biodiversity! Birds, insects, and small mammals all benefit! #NovaScotia
Nova Scotia Gardeners: This Sunday, June 22nd, is our 2nd annual Native Plant Sale. We began adding native plants to our gardens to support pollinators and because they are unique and eye-catching for all seasons. Come see our gardens (formal tours at 11am, 1, and 3pm) and take a plant home!
Armeria (Sea Thrift) :) they come in beautiful pink and white hues
You simply cannot beat the colours available for pelargoniums. We overwinter ours bare-root in the basement and they get HUGE after a couple of seasons
Our last batch of seedlings for this summer are coming up: fast-growing Nasturtiums and Xerochrysum. Our seed-planting schedule for this summer started all the way back in October with native plants needing cold treatments! Soon we will be able to just enjoy the garden! 🪏 🪴 #gardenSky
July - PEAK LAVENDER BLOOM, Lavender U-Pick by appointment (dates TBD)
August - pollinator plants, look for monarch caterpillars
September/October - asters, secondary lavender bloom

We’ve had a section of our lavender field that has never thrived because natural springs + heavy clay soil make it too wet for #lavender roots to be happy. Tired of fighting our soil, we ripped out that section of lavender and have planted a #willow #coppice instead!
We have a busy spring ahead! We will be visiting New Glasgow, Antigonish, and Halifax with lavender seedlings (+ more!), and are ecstatic to host our 2nd annual Native Plant Sale here at the farm. Clean your tools, grab your gloves, and let's garden! 🪴

Happy #EarthDay from Seafoam Lavender! This monarch butterfly emerged from her chrysalis last summer on the farm. Our gardens will soon be springing to life for the many native pollinators that live here with us. We can’t wait!
Love Lisianthus - what a gorgeous bloom
PSA: pinch your lavender seedlings for bushier growth!
Seedling update! One month after planting, our seedlings are a few cm tall.
