Many specimens donated to museums like PRI don't have sufficient data associated with them to be used in research. As a center for continuing ed, PRI has strong ties to regional k-12 teachers and holds an annual event to give these materials away, many of which are excellent teaching specimens

This is a powerful account from a PhD student whose fellowship was terminated by NIH because it was part of a "diversity" program without any other considerations or understanding of what the program or the students were actually doing.

Small win: #CDC privacy office survived the weekend chaos. Big concerns remain about how HHS, Palantir & others may use STLT data. If agencies must share, we recommend the bare minimum—aggregate if possible—and use high caution and good judgement to protect residents against unsanctioned data use.

HHS has eliminated EVERY SINGLE SAFEGUARD FOR DATA PROTECTION AT CDC. Giving data to CDC is no longer safe and puts your residents at risk.

Unless and until all CDC’s data protections are restored you should consider CDC a bad actor.

And, the office of Rehabilitative Services (RSA). My sources say that whole office is gone. This means no funding, oversight, or support for states' Vocational Rehab programs, which help disabled people transition into the workforce with guidance, funding for secondary coursework and job placement.
