You'll be hearing plenty of lies and propaganda about Venezuela shipping a bazillion tons of drugs via tiny fishing boats (which, incidentally, would have to refuel at least six times to reach U.S. waters) and submersibles (!).

Just keep in mind: IT'S THE OIL.

Venezuela's oil exports surpass 1 million bpd for first time since 2020, data shows
Venezuela's oil exports averaged 1.09 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, the highest monthly level since February 2020, according to shipping data and documents from state-run energy company PDVSA.

A few weeks ago, a 13 year old was abducted by ICE and he is still not home. The trauma caused to this child is unfathomable.

I wrote this piece in lieu of filing a child abuse report. Because where do I file it when the perpetrator is the federal government? open.substack.com/pub/ruthzaka...
A 13 year old and ICE
Weeks ago I wrote about 13 and 17 year old sisters who went missing in the world after ICE abducted their mother from a Worcester, Massachusetts street, leaving them parentless and in state care.

"As agents tear gas crowds, chase people down streets and raid homes, local journalists are left scrambling to cover a wide-ranging operation that affects their own communities. It is relentless work.."

You are a true American hero. Thank you for your service 🫡
Sure, you can say it looks however you think it looks - by all means. And people that know the facts have the right to correct you. At the end of the day, that suburban looking area is, in fact, the city of Chicago.
People from Chicago have a lot of city pride!! As we should. And it's not cool for people to look at a video and assume it's a suburb based on how the neighborhood looks.
“Stop, you’re hurting him.” Can I talk to him? Can I talk to him please before he leaves? Let me — that’s my dad."
As Carlos is placed in the vehicle and they get ready to leave, both boys cry out, “Pa, te amo. (Pa, I love you)."

This is grotesque.

Terrified. Are you seeing what ICE is doing in Illinois, God? What's your mood?

In video provided exclusively to MSNBC's The Weekend: Primetime, immigration agents are seen attempting to pull a man out a window of a Chicago home. Agents also jumped a fence into the locked backyard and manhandled people doing work. Hear from the homeowner tonight on The Weekend: Primetime.

People all over the country need to understand that federal agents are not in Chicago to prevent violence – they're in Chicago to cause violence.
(from the inbox) Less than an hour later this morning, just before 10:30 at Roscoe and Harding, feds again released gas as they were driving away, unobstructed, from a relatively small number of neighbors.

hello from 26th street in the heart of chicago’s little village neighborhood.

a crowd of a couple hundred community members has gathered under the iconic archway after a week of terror in which federal agents abducted dozens of people and tear-gassed the neighborhood.

chants of “chinga la migra!”
Not a direct translation, but this makes me wonder about more women in leadership. What might the impact be - globally - if the majority of people in leadership roles were women?

The more girls in a class, the merrier.

Data on 87k students: In cohorts with more girls, boys and girls have better mental health. More female peers predicts closer friendships for boys—and better body image & STEM grades for girls.

Border patrol agents deployed tear gas on the 3700 block of North Kildare where residents say a landscape worker, a resident, and a woman on a bike were detained. Video from a resident.
Hahaha - as a born/bred Chicagoan, being called "suburban" would get a reaction out of people living in the city proper on a good day, let alone when Chicago is being terrorized like this.
