“Get rid of them” is the final, most brutal solution, and everything Israel has done since October 7th has been consistent with that goal. It also has wide support among Israeli Jews: A poll Haaretz conducted in May found a whopping 82 percent supported expelling every Gazan, and 56 percent supported expelling Arab citizens of Israel itself (who make up about one-fifth of the official Israeli population). Forty-seven percent supported straight up murdering every single person in Gaza.

there's this constant concerted effort to paint israel as "normal" - they have pride parade parades, they're a democracy, they're (wink wink) almost european - but you only have to find out like five things about them to realize they're collectively rabid

You know about Ben-Gvir and the wedding.

Which one?

Where there was dancing.

Which one?

Pretending to stab Palestinians.

It was a disgusting event in which someone stabbed the picture of a baby. And it was disgusting. [In 2015, at a wedding that Ben-Gvir attended, dancing guests held up a photograph of a Palestinian baby who had been burned to death by right-wing Israeli extremists several months earlier, and one guest stabbed the picture with a knife. Ben-Gvir was the lead arsonist’s attorney. He later called the display at the wedding “stupidity.”]

every time I listen to what israeli politicians commanders etc are actually saying they are like "we are genociding these people, and it's great, except we need to kill more quickly, especially the children." every time I read the NYT it's like "israel's muscular security stance has drawn criticism"

before taking this course it was suggested to me that I should just go ahead and learn vim or emacs so I did all my C coding for the quarter in emacs. my previous IDE experience being I think eclipse. made the course 10x harder
