“Let them go a month without meals. Maybe they will get a job”

First, many SNAP recipients have jobs. They’re just living below the poverty line because of tremendous wealth inequality.

Second, many are disabled and children and can’t work.

Third, no one should starve to death.
Just saw a slutty Tower of Mordor costume on TikTok so Halloween has officially arrived.

Has your state or school district made new rules to censor Palestine-related education? I know about legislation in AZ, AR, CA, KS, KY, MO, NE, OK & TN. What am I missing? Drop a link or reach out. I'd also love to hear from you if you've organized against these efforts (for reporting @truthout.org)

A conservative-backed ballot measure in Maine is targeting absentee ballots, making it harder for everyone to vote — but especially aging and disabled people. "People who cannot drive, who are physically unable to read for whatever reason ...this will be a big burden on all of us," said one voter.
A Ballot Measure Targets Mail Voting in Maine - Bolts
Question 1, on the November ballot, would set up a barrage of new restrictions on absentee ballots that would considerably affect older voters and people with disabilities.

TAKE ACTION: Proponents of the anti-voter SAVE Act are pressuring the Election Assistance Commission to require documents like a passport in order to register to vote. Tell the Commission: Don’t make it harder for Americans to cast a ballot: bit.ly/4ngSyyl
I was at the John Brown Museum today and while I was in there, some lady loudly goes "John Brown would've been a GREAT Republican."

LOL. Ma'am. No.

(And before anyone says anything, I don't believe John Brown would've been a modern Democrat either).
Blocking anyone who speaks negatively about my dogs. Only I'm allowed to refer to them as "a problem" (which I will do several times a day).

Those are my SONS.

Anyways, introducing my newest problem to BlueSky: Oscar. He believes he should be allowed to climb on anything and loves to eat mulch.
Anyhow, apologized for my ridiculous dog and we have worked out alternative routes so our dogs don't see each other where we are both leaving/entering on different floors.
Update: after another interaction tonight it seems that my dog is reacting not to the other dog, but to the jolly ball that dog carries, because he is weirdly fearful of certain objects.
I mentioned the dog's breed only because I needed a descriptor to differentiate that my dog has absurdly tried to pick a fight with a dog 5 times his size who belongs to a cop. It isn't an indictment of the breed, it was just illustrating a story.
Update: Oliver saw the cop dog from like 20 feet away and absolutely lost it with barking.

I Immediately turned him around and walked the other way to let them go inside.

Can you train reactivity towards literally just one dog out of a dog?
My dog loves dogs. LOVES dogs. Has never had a problem with a dog. Except, now, for one.

He has decided that he hates the German Shepherd who lives with the cop down the hall (might be a police canine).
I've made it onto an "AI Haters" list so people can block me for disliking AI. I'll wear that label proudly.
Sometimes dogs have problems with each other, I guess. It's just our responsibility as owners to ensure that that problem doesn't get anybody hurt.
The German Shepherd previously lunged at my dog and has gone for several other dogs.

There are many good German Shepherds. It isn't the breed, it is the personality of individual dogs. But sometimes dogs don't like each other. I will be keeping my distance from this dog so there aren't issues.

ACAB across species I know that’s right
I'm proud that my son has absorbed my politics (but also don't want him to get mauled)
I'm actually stressing out pretty hard about this because the way we have to wait for elevators means that my dogs or this dog could be coming out of the elevator or around the corner and run into each other.

This dog has intimidated/lunged at him before but tonight Oliver was the one reacting.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.
"Jones, 27, is among the residents left at 7500 S. South Shore Drive who are trying to piece together what remains after an early morning, high-powered federal immigration raid led to the arrests of dozens of their neighbors at their South Shore apartment building."

I've been quiet on here lately. Been having some medical stuff going on, have some life changes coming up soon to share & that's been taking a lot of time. Also I got another dog.

The organizing work continues, just haven't had much time to post personally.

Abolish ICE. Free Palestine.

The worst of what we feared when Trump’s spending bill gave ICE a blank check is happening.

Nothing like a 100% tariff on my already $23,000 a dose (in the US) branded medication that keeps me alive and in remission. I'm sure this won't raise health care costs AT ALL.

I hate it here
People are going to die because of this.
