This picture was taken in Sept. 2012. At the time, I was homeless in Brooklyn, dealing with an assault, and my mom had terminal cancer. Yet when I think about that time, it is these 30 seconds of kindness that I focus on. I'm pinning this as a reminder of how much of an impact kindness can have.

jacobtheloofah: no but the best part is how he got the name: his name was originally "potatoes," and his owner, willoughby bertie, told the stable lad who helped him to write the horse's name on a feed bin. the boy misheard it as, literally "pot-eight-o's" and wrote it with 8 o's. bertie found it so funny that he kept that as the horse's name.

Just been to the doctor and found out that the dose for the Metformin was not what it should be. Apparently, 500mg pills should be taken twice a day, not once a day. So for 10-11 months, my A1c hasn't budged much and I'm still pre-diabetic. The doc was wanting to say it was a waste of time and meds, but I pointed out that I lost 30lbs and I'm not diabetic. I might not be much better, but I'm not worse, and rather than wasting time, it may have bought me time to get into a position where I could afford the right dose. I'm now on 750mg extended release, which the doc said is where I should have been started at.

Sounds like he'd be a grandpa or great-grandpa, assuming he had some time with a lady before certain bits were removed.
