The former curled her nose, finding fault in the wind for being cold, the uncut trail for being long and unknown, and in dust for its mere existence.

#NovemberWorldbuilders- Sare & Fra's violets in my Be Series. Fra gives Sare violets as a thank you. He got them from Henry's mother, which is a big deal. And Sare cherishes them. She wears them in her hair when they dance at a ball. Later he uses them to tell her it's safe to return to the castle.

This week's theme is COLORS! Tell me about something in your world that's PURPLE. Do you use it symbolically? Do you have anything special in your worldbuilding that's purple? Maybe an animal, jewels, a garment, a flower, or something more strange and magical?

Now, she was reminded of the perfume of sun-drenched tomato leaves. The ones she used to run through in her father's garden patch, hands catching the sandpaper edges, toes digging into the soil.
Once upon a time, it was everyday. Now, freedom felt like rare sunlight.

In my Be Series, Henry had been compared to a bumblebee, but a hummingbird or golden retriever puppy works, too. Ari is definitely a lynx. Elsbie has been compared to a feral kitten. A pet name for Fra was little bird. I'm not really sure what Sare would be.

If you were to choose an animal to represent your character what animal would it be and why?

Real, mythological, or something unique to your setting?

If your character is already an animal, tell me about that!

Theoretically, if I continue to draw character artwork, I'll actually figure out how to freaking draw people... Or at least get better at it, like figure out proper proportions! 🤦‍♀️ Eh, it is what it is!

New character art & a snippet!!!

200 Years, I'd say about 2. My Uncanny Encounters Series tends to focus on Gretchen chasing down a particular story, but I'd also consider the characters of that particular folklore central, as well.

200 Years, technically 3, if a potential twist sticks when I finish writing it, but readers shouldn't necessarily realize that when they first start reading it.

When Morning Comes has a bigger central cast, mostly because it's characters from the 1st 3 books coming together. I'd say about 7-9 central characters give or take (at least, so far).

There's a lot of multiple locations & coming back together, at least so far.

How many core characters does your story have?

How many of your cast would you consider central to the story, not side characters?

Are they usually together or does the story have multiple locations at once?

This comes up in my Be Series, namely book 1. Henry is a runaway prince &, though he would have been more than happy to run away from royal life in general, he winds up fleeing the castle for his life & the circumstances around doing so are less than ideal (that's a bit of an understatement)!

“Rethink your next move.” Much to everyone's astonishment, there stood Gracelynn. Voice, stature, eyes were the unsheathing of cold steel. Hands like a siren's claws, sure to tear flesh to ribbons if he tried to pull away.

In A Dance of Bow & Blade, it's Robyn's cloak, & tied to the greenwood, but especially as the outlaws & knights encounter more of the wasteland, it becomes a symbol of hope, with Robyn & Art reminding each other, "There's still green & dragonflies somewhere, at least."

Hey there, #NovemberWorldbuilders!
It's COLORS week! Tell me about something in your world that's green. This one is probably more common, since green is so strongly associated with nature. Do you have any cool greenery in your world? Or maybe you've used it for an object? Tell me about it!

#FantasyIndiesNovember- Seven Years Love playlist amuses me because the story itself is supposed to take place near the end of the golden age of piracy, but the songs I collected for it include Panic At the Disco and All Time Low. List of songs and links below!

Those blissful moments when first reunited were nice while they lasted. But havens in a place like the castle were always fleeting and fragile. Threats still lurked in the shadows of hope.

#FantasyIndiesNovember- According to my mother, I learned to write so I could write my stories. I remember that I would take my sketchbooks, draw something, & then write a story about what I drew. I was always writing.

How informed was this gamble from the South?
How much did they know of the King's cobweb purse?
And if the South knew that, how much more did they know?
