yeah its a great film but suffers from the common lib brain delusion that exposing terrible injustices will somehow cause such a commotion that they will be remedied, rather than what usually happens in real life, which is jack shit.

police/police unions exert control over the bulk of many municipal budgets, which means they de facto control those municipalities. many mayors, city councils, etc. are largely playing pretend with law enforcement leftovers. the reason police kill with impunity is that its BEEN their state.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

i had a decent enough time with tron: ares but it would have been an actually kick-ass movie if it had been tron: athena instead because as we can see from the BO, no one fuckin gives a shit about jar jar greaseball (workshopping that give me some time)
