I did not think this was a good article and I am not sure you could write a good article on this. But I think it is an incredibly interesting geopolitical question.

Justunbelievable the generational damage the administration is doing to the capacity of the Washington government to muster the cooperation of the population to further its goals. If a president asked you these days to consider rather what you can do for your country, you'd laugh.

But this actually suggests an answer to another question I'd had which is why ic e agents don't arrest more citizens for interfering with their work, which they're allowed to do. It could be because, to get anywhere with criminal charges, they'd have to sign affidavits, with their names.

The policy of the States Attorneys office is important, but it's also just plain difficult for law enforcement to bring charges out of protest arrests. It's resource intensive to connect each arrestee with particular crime with a particular officer who can testify. Then the testimony itself is time
