Theyve normalized Reagan, then Bush, then Bush Jr. and even Trump to a degree, mostly because as a party the Democrats have moved right with them and supported a lot of their policies. None of them want to reckon with the fact that when they reach across the aisle they are dealing with actual Nazis.

Liberal media/politicians/etc are constantly white washing Republicans and a lot of people keep thinking 'oh, once the old ones die off the new ones won't be as bad'

Overall, a lot of centrist lib hopes that they can wait out the fascism and its not the defining force of the other political party.

Earthbound isn't actually that great of an RPG. Its actually quite a bit of a slog especially at the start, and doesn't do much unique besides being quirky and set in the modern day. There are more inventive SNES RPGs you never played.

(I say this as someone who loves Earthbound, so no pitchforks)

Sadly a lot of it is just the chatbot being a doormat/yesbot. No, your ideas are wonderful, yes, you are right, your wife is being overly sensitive, here, I will gladly help you write a text message to her, no you are right she shouldn't respond like that when you tell her to get over it, etc etc.

For example personally? Something like fiber optic hair (been bald since 13, I'd love to have hair I can change color of on a whim), and various dermal replacements for aesthetic purposes. At least.

Without pain, cost, or things like rejection being a factor? I can see it being an extremely common thing. I don't know how 'normal' I am (cishet, very much into the concept of transhumanism), but at least people would get things to help with various dysmorphias or aesthetically pleasing things.

I'd say less, assuming technology also advanced in the pain reduction end and there weren't serious side effects. I would love to have various body mods now, but I have an aversion to pain and there are social stigmas that would make my current job unworkable with them.

It is hard to avoid the spiral, because all that just feeds in on itself. I hope your family is supportive, me and my partner helping each other always helps to put the brakes on the spiral.

Watched all of the (available) episodes of Monkey Wrench, and yeah, shit's good. Solid simple world building, good animation, like the characters. Loving this era of indie animation.

As opposed to like, Geists, mummies, prometheans, demons, etc etc. The only other close to human analog is changelings.

Pretty much, Demons in oWoD are only vulnerable in that they have human bodies, it was entirely possible to have like, cape level powers at start, like reforging any matter you can touch at whim and such. Vampires to be fair though, are also easier to wrap your head around as a player.

Yeah, vampires main enemies are each other and hunters, werewolves are much more powerful but have to deal with wyrm nonsense, vampires are beneath their notice. There is more powerful in oWoD (Demons/Mages)

This is all admittedly as 'tourists trying to go places' but I always have to budget -way- more yen than I ever have to budget krw. We live in the boonies and can catch a but for 2$ to Seoul (about an hour or so from us), then hop on the subway for a dollar or two per ride, depending on distance.

A lot of Japan has different companies running different things. There are 'all day' passes that can get you everywhere on a train line for X days, but only for that specific company's trains. Sometimes it includes busses/trams, sometimes not.

Not to mention if I get off the bus and onto the subway then onto the bus, it all transfers and basically just charges you the total distance you went instead of each individual ride being a specific fare.

When we travel in Korea, round trip all day stuff is maybe 20 usd at most for bus and train rides all day. In Japan you can spend 10 usd going one way.
