🎃 The Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival is BACK for 2025! 🎃

This year we can support up to 800 players at once in this seasonal pumpkin carving MMO!

This year's update comes with new areas and new secrets to find.

Hope you don't mind if I re-use the trailer from last year! 😅

Cross-platform isn't a feature—it's the foundation.
For your criteria, Sinners wins hands down. It's great, and also great fun.
It's only been four days since I saw the sun and I'm already looking forward to spring. Very grumpy about months of living inside tupperware.
one of my fave and most impactful discoveries when I first started going to the states - I have so many of his cake postcards. Very excited for this!

A selection of images from games etc. Hannah Nicklin has worked on, a screencap or key art image from: Saltsea Chronicles, Black Mirror: Thronglets, Mutazione; and the cover of Writing for Games: Theory & Practice. Also featured two reviews.

One from Eurogamer: 5/5 Saltsea Chronicles
"Onwards you go in pursuit of your missing crew, then, your story diverging further from mine with every island choice, with every flick of the head or settling of the lips. Memories/Artefacts? Skeptical/Curious? And astonishingly, through all these moving parts, all this phase space, my story still made rich sense, and actually built to a truly devastating climax.

Scream/Weep? Fittingly, for me, Saltsea Chronicles turned out to be a story about choices as well as a story made of choices. It made me think about the big decisions I make in life, but also the decisions that shape a life that I don't even notice having made. Ripples turning to waves and all that. You must play this. It's luminous."

The second of Mutazione from Gamespew, 9/10
"Mutazione is a game that builds up relationships within a community you instantly feel a part of. The main story is secondary to the real drama and the heart of the town, but it’s necessary. It’s extremely well-written, and the hand-drawn environments are beautifully designed. Die Gute Fabrik has crafted a sweet, powerful fairy tale that delves into the human psyche and allows you to reside there for five hours or so." A virtual biz card on a dark purple background, featuring an image of a white woman in glasses, with blonde hair, speaking at a podium. Next to it is the title Hannah Nicklin, and the details Creative Director, Narrative Lead/Designer, Senior Writer, Consultant.

Aftonbladet's interview with Greta Thunberg is now available in English - it raises many serious questions, not least about the Swedish govt. effectively abandoning its citizens to torture because it doesn't agree with their politics. A thundering disgrace.

We're a Tidal house here - we have a family account so both kids use it. I like Tidal a lot (they pay artists a lot more per stream than Spotify). No podcasts though.

As an example of the sort of stuff on there, one of the articles is a short writeup of a prototype I mentioned on bluesky a year or so back. An approach to generating a top down city map.

Is there anything more beautiful in this world than the autumn sun shining down on a tarpaulin with some wood, bricks and an old chair on it?

It does often have rapture vibes at this time of year down the allotment. Except they delivered a huge mountain of manure this week, so there were a bunch of people barrowing that about today.
Not sure what the bed under this tarp will be next season. Maybe corn?
Over the winter not that much - we have some leeks and various brassicas - kale, broccoli, sprouts, some rainbow chard. The strawberries will overwinter in pots. Everything else gets covered until the spring.
