Donate to a local food bank by November 15, send us a receipt, and we'll give you an equal value in free membership on our Patreon. You tell us what tier you'd like ($1/mo, $3/mo, or $5/mo), we'll divide your donation by that and give you that many months free. www.patreon.com/cw/revolutio...

This week, patrons got a horror story from @giuli.revolutionarygames.co about monster-slayers and the monsters they become. You could read it right now if you became a patron — or by helping your local community by donating to a local food bank. www.patreon.com/posts/tyrant...
Revolutionary Games includes quite a few bioregionalists, so we'd recommend looking to your own neighbors first and donating to your local food bank, but if you're still not sure who to donate to, NM is facing some big challenges. bsky.app/profile/giul...
I was pretty shocked when I saw this map earlier today. It’s great to donate to your local food bank, but it looks like people in New Mexico will be in the most desperate need when SNAP funds run out November 1. Wherever you live, if you’re looking for a food bank to give to, consider one in NM.
Thanks to @aavoigt.bsky.social / apologies for blatantly ripping off your idea. It's a real good idea! And by all means, send him your receipt and then send the same one to us. The part that we care about is getting food in people's bellies. bsky.app/profile/aavo...
I know it’s not a lot but if you donate to Midwest Food Bank and send me a receipt I‘ll gift you an equivalent amount of months to my Patreon ($4/mo), rounded up ($10=3 months).

This week's Patreon exclusive is a piece of flash fiction by @giuli.revolutionarygames.co. It's a story about every revolutionary's deepest fear: becoming the tyrant.

“Vampires are parasites. They drink blood, granted, but it’s so much more than that. The very essence of a vampire is selfishness: a user, a coward who would rather feed on the younger generations than face the end.” www.patreon.com/posts/142126...

Think of hope as a decision, not an emotion. A choice you make, and then work toward fulfilling.
Very few good things come without effort.

No state has a right to exist. States do not have any rights. People have rights. People are flesh and blood; states are ideas that we make up (supposedly) to make our lives better. They do not have rights, they have obligations — and they should be discarded the moment they fail to uphold those.

Once you've seen the vast range of what's possible and the other games out there that you could be playing, you'll never be able to look at the old game the same way. And you come to recognize that a lot of the things you once accepted as necessary evils aren't necessary at all.
There's a pet theory shared by many of us here at Revolutionary Games that so many anthropologists become anarchists because it's like someone who's only ever played D&D their whole life discovering Wanderhome or Nordic LARP for the first time.
In tabletop roleplaying games, it's not uncommon for an eager new designer to make some painfully derivative games, often owing to a narrow experience. They've only played one game, so they don't appreciate all that games can be. It's the "Boss Baby" meme, for game design.
We've let some of the worst game designers to ever live design the most important game that any of us will ever play.
While we have our issues with the views that Davids Wengrow and Graeber championed in "The Dawn of Everything," there are certainly some ways in which society is a giant and deadly-serious game that we all play — and we all design. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJIH...

Of course we don't want that, so we impose laws and back them up with the threat of violence, death, kidnapping, and imprisonment if you break them. It's supposed to be a counter-incentive that persuades you not to lie, cheat, or steal. But that only goes so far if your survival is on the line.
