We can still read what’s happening on media outlets, but not engage, as an experiment. Plus, so many still on Meta, as one example, and our outrage earns them bazillions daily.

Pondering the potential power of not resharing anything from a certain person who thrives on attention, for one solid day, together, on all social media outlets. A concerted effort by millions world wide would suck oxygen from the room, I suspect.

When anyone is fighting for their lives simply to exist, demanding they “take one for the team,” is abhorrent. The system is broken, didn’t work anyway, & ain’t coming back. New approaches, that honor all, crucial. No immediate answers, but sure as hell doesn’t include throwing anyone under the bus.

Contrast that with Taos today. Maybe the elders initially started/held the space, but at 2.0 today, it was utterly multigenerational. And fwiw, I saw a friend in her ‘30s, who had to get to her job, driving down the street with “ICE = KKK” signs all over her car, honking wildly & giving thumbs up.

2/ Love, not fear. This what I firmly believe who we truly are. When I’ve seen MAGA events, I note how the vibe is pulled in, separated (even as they seek “togetherness”). Angry. Pinched. Bitter. Retributive. I pay attention to this. The world I want to live in was experienced today, not the latter.

1/ Today. Standing up with 1000s of community members, lots of laughs and hugs and kindness reminded me of being in a sea of gente in DC, for Obama’s first inauguration, doing the same. It was today, like that other seminal moment in my life, experiencing the overwhelming joy of community & sharing.
