Zohran Mamdani uses his appearance on Fox News to "speak directly to the president," since "he might be watching right now."

Mamdani looks straight into the Fox camera as he says this >>>
I read that one and loved it! I think I actually learned about it because you mentioned it at some point
Neat! I just saw some videos on this in my YouTube inbox and thought it looked useful.

Someone suggested “S.” to me since I liked “House of Leaves,” and so far it's been a great suggestion. If anyone has other suggestions (ergodic, experimental, intertextual, etc.) I'd love to hear them!
The purple and yellow also appear to be from different read-throughs than the blue and black, so the notes are non-linear. There are also photocopies, postcards, and other supplementary things tucked into the pages.
I'm reading ”S.” by Doug Dorst and so far it's very interesting.

It's framed as an old library book called “Ship of Theseus” by enigmatic (fictional) author V.M. Straka, and two students have written notes in the margin discussing the book and their lives.

“[Israel] signed this agreement that’s going to get their hostages back, but that will allow them to resume their strategic objectives of rendering Gaza uninhabitable and eventually leading to mass exodus … in a way that is palatable by the international community.”

What does this mean? One thing is that, in addition to stopping their ludicrous validation of fascist lies, Democrats and mainstream news must also attempt to make clear how this process works, and how it will transform daily life for essentially everyone in our society.

But when you realize that most violence is not by strangers (hence police violence being large %), you see why it's vital for cops to obscure it: no one believes more $$ for punishment bureaucracy is a solution to the reasons people **in some kind of relationship with each other** hurt each other.

First the basics: The vast bulk of physical and sexual violence in our society is *not* perpetrated by strangers, but by people who know each other. Obscuring this fact is a critical feature of copaganda in the news. People are shocked to hear it. Why?

THREAD. Did you know that at about 1/3 of all stranger homicides in the U.S. are perpetrated by police? But there's something hidden here that is important to understand in this authoritarian moment.
“Celeste said the People over Papers team… foresaw this happening and began working on a new website months ago. Though they planned for a later launch, Padlet’s removal sped up the release.

The new website, iceout.org, launched on Sunday.”

TL; DR
In the next 5 business days you should be able to go to Link's page on blacksky.community and see his posts and he'll be able to post but people using the bsky mobile apps won't see it.
After that we'll get Blacksky-only posts up.
After that we can talk about purging bsky mod tools

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

Yeah, this tells you how to get the beta, and it does look like they're still working on it: mastodon.social/@Feditext/11...

And here's the TestFlight link: testflight.apple.com/join/3Ik3KBjj

Available on iOS

It's great, but also basically abandoned. The fork of it — Feditext — also kind of slowed down in development, but for a while you could get the beta in TestFlight. You might still be able to, and that is the other one I used.
Also using phanpy.social in the browser is nice, and I actually just go to hachyderm.io in the browser. Idk what Mastodon version jorts.horse is on, but recent versions put the toolbar in the bottom, and are pretty nice to use.
