If pundits were actually concerned about parties becoming too radical, they’d talk about lunacy like this, which controls the GOP.

But they’re not, they’re just looking for ways to complain about their liberal friends. So they select tiny, silly liberal initiatives and complain about those.
The whole state of Idaho banning all vaccine mandates should be bigger news! If you want your grandmother's nursing home or your daughter's day care to require nurses and teachers to vaccinate, you literally can't! None of them are allowed to require that.

It's also going to take eating some treaty crow. No more American exceptionalism on treaties and international agreements. Back in the Paris Accord, sign this shipping agreement, join the ICC, etc etc. Bind us to the actual RULES rather than just saying we'll play nice in the future.

Something Dems (especially natsecs types) need to get through their thick skulls is the only way we might come back from this internationally is if the accountability for it is swift, broad, and punishing

Politicals, career type, in or out of govt c. 2029, no matter the rank, they all need to fry
European negotiators were personally targeted by their American counterparts during a brutal negotiation over green shipping rules, European Commission officials told POLITICO.

This highly unusual gambit left diplomats shaken after the meeting.
US accused of threatening EU diplomats during bid to kill green shipping rules
Negotiators at shipping talks in London were told both they and their countries could be punished unless they voted with the U.S.

A million New Yorkers claim they will flee NYC - and a million New Yorker's wives tell them they will, in fact, not.
You laugh, but this is how the exododus went extinct

The Joe Biden thing was the moment the US media essentially showed its hand as being in total control of the country. An entire apparatus on a single message like the creepy sinclair script.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.
He’s staying in because fuck Cuomo said literally every NY republican for years
A plane is much easier than a car, the road is infinite, there’s near-zero traffic compared to a road, and parking spaces are kilometers long. But you can’t pull over.

Part of this is that the right wing people that media people encounter on a regular basis are in fact doing a bit, they've been assured that it's a bit, & they've been assured that at the end of the day, money talks & bullshit walks, same as with them.
i'm reminded of that one anecdote where focus groups straight up didn't believe Romney's actual policy positions were real because they were too austere

i think a similar thing is happening for media people who live in denial of what the American right is all about, it's not just Twitter edgelords
a genuine problem is that a lot of this stuff is just completely alien to the mass media elite

like who else besides weirdos like me take time to analyze what the intellectual righties are saying

Trump's brain is pudding but his ball knowledge is somehow well above average for the GOP.
Trump: "TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, NOT JUST FOR THE SHUTDOWN, BUT FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. WE WILL GET ALL OF OUR COMMON SENSE POLICIES APPROVED (VOTER ID, ANYONE?) AND MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! REMEMBER, THE DEMOCRATS WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY, AS SOON AS THEY GET THE CHANCE."

Imagine being this angry all the time. My business is defense and most of us aren’t even close to this level of rage on a day to day. Like the weird E6 in the company that can’t PCS talks like this when you hang around the smoke pit too long.
it's utterly wild how the Heritage Foundation president talks about other people

if you found a guy talking like this outside, you'd probably call the cops

If ICE agents begins harassing voters on the way to vote on Tuesday, we need local prosecutors to charge the ICE officers with state law crimes. We need to send a message for 2026 that they will be swiftly arrested.
Bush Jr/Cheney and the US Defense complex were high on victory after 1991 but upset at the slowdown in Afghanistan and believed a symbolic destruction of Saddam’s empire would be a good end to the GWOT era but instead was a second big quagmire.

"The US invaded Iraq for oil" is covering for the much worse reason of "Bush Jr. was not very good at foreign policy, and he and the IC did actually believe that invading Iraq to remove WMDs was a good thing to do."
What does Venezuela possess that the U.S would be interested in controling?

What does Nigeria possess that the U.S would be interested in controling?

Venezuela has the world's largest proven oil reserves.

Nigeria is Africa's largest oil producer.
Remember Iraq?

Don’t fall for the okie dokie.

O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

The War Powers Resolution was Congress’s attempt to rein in the quasi-legal military authority that had been accumulated by the presidency. It was passed in response to Nixon’s secret bombing of Cambodia, Operation Menu, which was *drumroll* an airstrike campaign.
The Justice Department told Congress this week that President Trump could lawfully continue his lethal military strikes on people suspected of smuggling drugs at sea. The move rests on the idea that a Vietnam-era law called the War Powers Resolution does not apply to airstrike campaigns.
War Powers Law Does Not Apply to Trump’s Boat Strikes, Administration Says
The move deepened the idea that a Vietnam-era law, which says congressionally unauthorized deployments into “hostilities” must end after 60 days, does not apply to airstrike campaigns.
