A friend wrote a book about the importance of abortion rights and a reader wrote her a fan letter saying how glad he was that she took an anti-abortion stance 🤷🏻‍♀️

this is your periodic reminder that this doesn’t exist bc grandma didn’t take all of her antibiotics that one time. it’s because 80% of the antibiotic market is factory farming. *80 fucking percent.*

Things are coming together for my novella FES IS A MIRROR to come your way soon! Check out our first blurb from novelist Robert Jones, Jr. He thinks you will dig this!
On Fes is a Mirror by Chantal James
Out October 28, 2025 from Willow Books

I hate how quiet it's kept that Chantal James is one of the most brilliant writers writing. I read Fes Is a Mirror faithfully, amazed at the level of skill, of world-creation, and of wisdom contained within its pages. James is so careful with her characters, no matter how reckless their situations. She's so intentional with her language and every sentence is delicious. It's the kind of book you throw across the room because it pierces your heart, but you pick back up again and cradle because it's so beautiful. No lie: Fes Is a Mirror is a masterwork.

- Robert Jones, Jr., author of The Prophets, finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction
People who are avant garde often seem like they lack focus because others simply can’t understand why they wouldn’t just keep doing the same old thing

The single act you can take with the biggest antifascist impact is wearing an n95 in public.

Illness & disability most harm the communities that fascists target: trans, disability, BIPOC, immigrant, poor, &c.

COVID, measles, &c are bullets. Your maskless face is the gun.

Name a more perfect geometric form than a cat curled up into a perfect little ball with its paw covering its face. I’ll wait.

I just … feel so hopeless about the state of public health. I recently heard a doctor talk about how parents are now refusing to let doctors give their newborns vitamin K shots to prevent hemorrhaging. Like, it’s literally a vitamin. There aren’t even “preservatives” or whatever in those shots.
Like I want to know if this ridiculous cycle is going to keep perpetuating itself or are the anti-vaxxers’ kids like “no way I’m depriving my kids of protection”
I vaguely remember reading this back in the day, but I guess I’m more looking for a research piece. Like, 80% of these kids wish their parents had vaccinated them, 20% agree with their parents’ decision, etc. I’m just curious about the numbers.
Has anyone written a piece about the adult kids of antivaxxers? Like how do they feel about the decisions their parents made for them?

49% of COVID infections are asymptomatic according to Yale School of Public Health.

Yale advises layered protection: N95 masks, HEPA filters, good ventilation, vaccines, rapid tests and wastewater monitoring.

The image presents an informative graphic about COVID-19, highlighting that 49% of infections are asymptomatic. It emphasizes the importance of a multilayered approach to protection. The text lists several protective measures: wearing N95 and KN95 masks, using HEPA air filtration, ensuring good ventilation (carbon dioxide levels below 800 parts per million), staying up-to-date with vaccinations, conducting rapid tests before gatherings, and monitoring wastewater levels of COVID-19. The graphic is attributed to Yale School of Public Health, with sources cited at the bottom.

For context that's a third the price the RIAA expected a single human to pay for just downloading 24 songs a decade ago (after cutting the ruling down from $1.5m, or $62,000 per song), and that's not adjusting for inflation:

My book came out 6 years ago -- thank you WTAW Press for taking a chance on this collection. It made my world so much bigger and helped me meet so many wonderful people and find community. Huge hugs to all my readers -- forever grateful.

There needs to be a special place in hell for male doctors who deny their women clients a medication they've been taking with no ill effect for years and instead try to recommend a bunch of other shit that the client has already tried unsuccessfully
