One thing you can do to support the preservation of history even if you can't visit the Smithsonian or National Historic Site is to learn your local history. They can't hide, erase, or "reconstruct" everything.

Laws are not self-executing. Is this an obvious Hatch Act violation? Of course. But without good men and women in government faithfully executing the laws, it doesn't matter.

When this is all over, assuming we still have a constitutional government, there needs to be an accounting.

By my count: Of the 15 Departments of the US Government, 13 launched new BlueSky accounts tonight (all but Justice and HUD), and all 13 have posted explicitly partisan political posts blaming Democrats and/or Chuck Schumer for the government shutdown.

Your FIL & his ilk engage in extrajudicial killings, kidnapping children, excusing/pardoning pedophiles & fraudsters, ignoring the Hatch Act, usurping congressional power of the purse, racism, censorship, etc. The Superbowl halftime show is not worth a meltdown.

I found out that a booklet member protested with a bunch of other people outside her assisted living facility during the last #NoKings. My mom has asked about making signs or postcards since attending would be too much physically.
Some of our elders got us here. Some have been kicking & screaming.

Prompt engineering is just rephrasing your question until an LLM spits out an answer you like. There's no lateral reading, source evaluation, or critical thinking. That's not my job as school librarian. Research skills are finding relevant, credible sources efficiently (not necessarily quickly).

It's a spectrum:
- AI will magically solve all our problems & be bias-free & bring about the singularity.
- It's an ocean-boiling, job-decimating plagiarism machine that helps broligarchs consolidate power.

AI is a tool. It's useful for some things and comes at a cost. Let's keep that cost down.
