I love languages and am bad at capitalism. Focusing on Japanese and French right now but want to learn Korean and Mandarin next. I'd also like to learn some ancient Greek. 🤓 You can also find me in the fediverse @[email protected] 🖖

for nearly a year until I figured out that other people on reddit and stack overflow were complaining about the same issue. I don't even know what it was supposed to do but it constantly tracked the mouse's movements and was turned on by default. Anyway, I will now only use stock usb drivers.
But I can't say it's useful for much else, brainstorming maybe?, unless you're an expert doing data analysis at a large scale. And it's weird how companies keep trying to stuff AI into everything. I have a logitech mouse that had it shoved into a software update and it made my computer unusable
I've been using it, chat gpt, for this purpose. I can't see using it from scratch though. I sometimes give chat gpt a list of Japanese vocab, grammar points or kanji and have it quiz me in various ways that a basic flashcard isn't as useful for.
It's cute how twitter won't let you mass delete your tweets.

If you hate density and keep your own city from being dense but just love the cache of saying you live in a city, maybe you don't actually want to live in a city. Perhaps you should stfu about parking and move to a suburb, and leave the rest of us to our dense, walkable, transit forward lives?
No. "We support dense housing but not there," is why housing is so expensive here. Nice try attempting to hide your NIMBYism.
btw this kind of thinking is why there isn't enough housing in SF and why it's so expensive here. So sick of this NIMBY bs.
"craftsman homes...mid-century apartments" LOLZ you mean those shitty boxes and shittier apartments that look like they won't withstand the next earthquake? Yeah...let's preserve those historic buildings just like the blackened wall in north beach being supported by 2x4s.
I love this! We support density and new housing, but only if it doesn't change the historic parts of the city (which is most of the city because we don't build new housing)

MOAR AMBER!!!!

Important thread
In 1980, President Carter signed The Mental Health Systems Act en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mental_... in an effort to streamline community mental health care and to destigmatize mental illness. The idea was to move people into their neighborhoods or keep them at home while providing therapies and meds.

Neat. Uh, so never click on a link in an email. Go to the company’s site to verify claims and download legitimate versions of software.

You gently run your hand through the rack. You can feel it—pure cotton, rich wool, Irish linen. The plump buttonholes are handsewn; the buttons attached with a firm shank. You flip the price tag over. It's affordable

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

That's right. It's time for part 3 of the FPS series; this time, a lot of assorted thoughts on what makes for good enemy design. This one was fun as hell to write.

building a better first person shooter part 3: enemy mine
So! First, we talked about a specific subgenre of first person shooter, loosely starting with Unreal and Half-Life and dying off around…

It looks like there’s an “all access” subscription that includes both cooling and wire cutter for $50/year. But your library might also have it!

Today in History: October 14th

At the Battle of Hastings, fought this day in 1066, King Harold II of England was defeated by the invading army of William, duke of Normandy, in the Norman Conquest, establishing Normans as rulers of England.
The last two short essays in section 2 were about disaster drills and wagashi and the seasons. Both were interesting and the author of the second came to the correct conclusion that Sakura wagashi are both beautiful and delicious!
