Been having some slight tendon and wrist issues, which is why I'm not saying much online atm (and probably won't for the next few weeks). It's not terrible but I really want to prevent this from becoming a long term thing.

I changed careers at 38 (I am now 45), and some friends did the same. We are all way happier than our previous selves.

The fact that Anthropic is built on pirated books sums up the whole GenAI industry: they're not even willing to pay for ONE consumer copy of the material they're training on. Reminder that nobody would use GenAI if it wasn't trained on the work of millions because that's what makes it valuable.

In general, people who don't feel at home in "the system" often don't feel like they could be part of it even if they tried. So they think things like "grants" are for other types of people.
