a psalm for the wild-built
our representation, the way we're presented on the world stage- it's so crass and incurious. we really are in the American Century of Humiliation.
one of the smaller things that bothers me about the present state of affairs is that it's made being an American so embarrassing. like, it was never exactly something to be overly proud of- not in my lifetime, anyway- but now, it's so much worse. the people that represent us are humiliating.

my partner (who you may know as @heathenish.bsky.social) is trying to get out of Florida. we're both struggling to find consistent work right now, so we're fundraising to offset the cost of moving out-of-state as much as we can... please share our campaign around if you can

seems like a great idea to anyone with sense, but it would require marketing executives to concede that they don't know everything about the market at all times. might as well hope it rains spaghetti!
this is not a case of "old people are so uncool"- this is a case of a cultural divide so vast that the drives and motivations of the new generation are essentially completely alien to the people that run our society. that's a serious problem.
it sounds ludicrous to suggest this, but part of the reason that right wing extremists control the narrative so easily in traditional media is that no one in traditional media is young enough to understand the current environment of youth radicalization and how it emerged over the last 15 years.
news media organizations (every organization, really) desperately need to start hiring people under the age of 35 and start putting them in decision-making positions. any organization that can't understand youth culture also lacks the ability to meaningfully report on current events
feels not great for society that no one has any money to spend on anything, but almost all the postings on most job boards are just different ways of saying "sales." employment is now begging people to buy products they don't want with money they don't have. grifter nation!

it is, quite literally, the exact opposite of everything Snyder's Superman was, and that's what makes it perfect! highly recommended!

it isn't that i begrudge anyone who bought a switch 2- it's just that i encourage, in the strongest terms possible, the ongoing effort to undermine nintendo's security efforts so the entirety of their offerings can be accessed entirely for free on your own home PC.
i'll need bayer but yes
i really should get back to writing

Agent Smith went apeshit because they wouldn't let him touch grass and i get it, his job was essentially that of a 24/7 twitter moderator. what a living nightmare
the plot of The Matrix is ostensibly about breaking free of society's constraints, but if you look at the original trilogy from the POV of the Agent Smith character, it's about how being on the Internet 24/7 will make a person violently insane, and tbh i completely get why he did what he did
